''Incoming'' is a 3D shooter video game developed by Rage Software and published by Interplay. The game was first released for Microsoft Windows in mid-1998, and was followed by a Sega Dreamcast version, which was released in Japan on December 17, 1998, in Europe on October 14, 1999, and in North America on September 15, 1999. Set in the near-future of 2009, the game primarily revolves around controlling vehicles and turrets to fight alien invaders of Earth in one of the campaign modes, the arcade mode, and with or against another player. Some levels include brief real-time strategy segments. Praised for its then-advanced graphics and sound, the game was generally well-received on the PC, though the critical response was less positive for the Dreamcast version. A sequel entitled '' Incoming Forces'' was released in 2002 exclusively for the PC. An arcade version of the game, utilising a unique hardware interface, was released in 2003. ''Incoming!'' is a video game for WiiWare developed by JV Games. It was released in North America on July 13, 2009. Gameplay Players control a row of tanks, and must destroy their opponent's tanks by firing back at them. Using the pointer function of the Wii Remote, players set the angle and power of their shots, and also shoot down missiles and power-ups that rain down from the sky. The game features a single player campaign and a head to head two player mode. Reception ''Incoming!'' received negative reviews from critics. Philip J. Reed of Nintendo Life gave the game a score 1 out of 10 stars, saying that it was an "all time low for JV Games" and calling the gameplay "absolutely reprehensible" with "horrible" controls, though he had some more positive comments about the graphics. Sir Andrew Motion (born 26 October 1952) is an English poet, novelist, and biographer, who was Poet Laureate from 1999 to 2009. During the period of his laureateship, Motion founded the Poetry Archive, an online resource of poems and audio recordings of poets reading their own work.
