Voices (Matchbook Romance Album)
''Voices'' is the second and final studio album by American rock band Matchbook Romance. The album's sound leaves behind much of the stripped down sound of their debut, ''Stories and Alibis'', opting for a darker, more foreboding tone. The album was released through Epitaph Records on February 14 in the US. accompanied by the single "Monsters", and radio only single "Surrender". Background Vocalist Andrew Jordan adopts a much different vocal style for this record than their previous, bringing the band closer to the second-wave emo sound. The band chose to tune the all their guitars down half a step to help with the change. The cover of the album was designed by Shawn Harris from pop punk band The Matches. Inside the album's packaging is a small plastic panel, with alternating black and transparent strips. This panel can be aligned with parts of the album's artwork to reveal secret messages. John Creamer & Stephane K
John Creamer & Stephane K are international DJs, and as a duo, a New York City-based electronic music and house music production team. They are perhaps best known for creating original dance singles as well as dance remixes for artists such as iiO, Moby, New Order, Rosko and Sinéad O'Connor. Early life and careers John Creamer grew up in Philadelphia and began his career in New York in the mid-90s as an A&R man for Eightball Records, and later for Satellite Records, and was producing acid house before he met up with his future production partner. Stephane K (Stephane Kaneda) came to New York by way of Tokyo and Paris, and was making music with Satoshi Tomiie under the name "Bipath" when he met Creamer. Offer Nissim ( he, עופר ניסים) is an Israeli DJ, remixer, and record producer. He produced the winning entry of the Eurovision Song Contest 1998, "Diva", by Dana International. Besides his work with Dana International, Nissim has often collaborated with Maya Simantov on songs such as "For your Love", "Everybody Needs a Man", "Alone", and "First Time", and has produced official remixes for various artists, including Madonna and Cher. Biography and career Offer Nissim was born in Israel, to parents of Sephardic Jewish (Iraqi-Jewish) descent. He displayed a keen interest in music from a young age. His musical career started in 1979, when he had to stand in for an absent DJ at Tel Aviv's Theater Club.
