Hillside Railway Station
Hillside railway station serves the southern half of the Birkdale area of Southport, England. It is located on the Southport branch of the Merseyrail network's Northern Line. It is the closest station to the Royal Birkdale golf course, and is extremely busy when major events (such as the Open Championship) are held there. History Hillside opened in May 1926 as an intermediate station on the ex-Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway (LYR) after the 1923 grouping into the London, Midland and Scottish Railway, and long after the railway had originally opened in 1848. By this time, the area had developed into a sizable residential suburb of Southport. Nationalisation followed in 1948 and in 1978 the station became part of the Merseyrail network's Northern Line (operated by British Rail until privatised in 1995). Hillside is a township in Union County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States census, the township's population was 21,404, reflecting a decline of 343 (−1.6%) from the 21,747 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 703 (+3.3%) from the 21,044 counted in the 1990 Census. Hillside is a historic house at 310 Litchfield Road in Norfolk, Connecticut. The house was built in 1908 for an heiress of the Remington Arms business fortune, and is one of the most spectacular designs of Alfredo S.G. Taylor, a prominent New York City architect who designed many summer properties in the community. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Description and history Hillside is located south of the village center of Norfolk, on the east side of Litchfield Road. It is set on a lot of , most of which is wooded. The house occupies a ridge site with expansive views facing northwest, at the end of a winding drive at some remove from the road. Hillside Engineering Group is a trading division of the rail operator KiwiRail in Dunedin, New Zealand. Most of its work is related to KiwiRail, but it also does work for the marine industry in Dunedin. On 19 April 2012 KiwiRail announced it was putting Hillside on the market for sale. In November 2012 KiwiRail announced it had sold part of the business to Australian firm Bradken, and the rest would be closed. The workshops continued to be used for some maintenance work by Kiwirail with a skeleton staff. Hillside Animal Sanctuary
Hillside Animal Sanctuary, based in Frettenham, Norwich, and with a site at West Runton, North Norfolk, is the United Kingdom's largest home for different kinds of farm animals and horses. The vegan-run sanctuary is funded entirely on public donations. The sanctuary was established by Wendy Valentine and its patron is actor Martin Shaw. Formation Valentine formed the sanctuary in 1995 after she witnessed the farming of battery hens, and has since helped and campaigned for and on behalf of animals. Binkley, the series was Nickelodeon's only teenage soap opera. The show was shot on videotape, similar to most daytime dramas. The series was first conceived as ''Hillside'' in an improvised form for The Disney Channel, where a 13-episode pilot series was produced and tested in the United States. Hillside (Carlisle, South Carolina)
Hillside is a historic home located near Carlisle, Union County, South Carolina. It was built between 1820 and 1830, and is a two-story, "L-shaped" Federal style clapboard structure. It features a central double piazza with slender Tuscan order wooden columns. It was enlarged about 1850. Also on the property are tall granite gate posts with folk art relief sculpture. The posts are believed to have been carved about 1861 by J. E. Sherman, a Union soldier who became ill and was left at Hillside to recuperate prior to the American Civil War. Also on the property are a hand-hewn barn, a well with modern well-house, and another small 19th century structure.
