Nevada State Prison
Nevada State Prison (NSP) was a penitentiary located in Carson City. The prison was in continuous operation since its establishment in 1862 and was managed by the Nevada Department of Corrections. It was one of the oldest prisons still operating in the United States. The high security facility housed 219 inmates in September 2011. It was designed to hold 841 inmates and employed a staff of 211. In the early 20th century, the prison became the sole designated facility for executions by the state of Nevada. It carried out the first death sentence by gas chamber in the United States with the execution of Gee Jon on February 8, 1924. The state of Nevada chose to close the facility for budgetary reasons. The prison closed its doors on May 18, 2012, with all inmates transferred to other institutions or released. It was released on May 13, 2002 by Mute Records in the UK and on May 14, 2002 by V2 Records in the US. ''Goldfly'' is the second studio album by the rock band Guster, released in 1997. The album was recorded in December 1996 at the House of Blues Studios in Encino, California. It sold around 20,000 copies as an independent release, before being picked up by Sire Records. The Sire version was remixed by Mike Shipley. There are three versions of the album. The original, rare, independently released version has the hidden song "Melanie" before the first song. The version released on Hybrid/Sire Records has the hidden song as the eleventh track. The third version, distributed to members of Guster's rep program, is a bad CD pressing of the album which contains "Melanie" as the first track, while "Getting Even" and "Bury Me" are combined as a single track. ''Great Escape'' is the second studio album from The Rifles, released on 26 January 2009 after it was delayed from its initial release date of 13 October 2008. The album delay was somewhat attributed to the length of time it took to record. The Rifles used two different producers, Dave McCracken and Stan "Jan" Kybert, as well as recording the album in three different locations. ''The Great Escape'' is the fourth album by Swedish progressive metal band Seventh Wonder. It was recorded over the Spring and Summer of 2010, and was released on December 3, 2010. It is also the last album recorded with Johnny Sandin on drums, as he left the band due to personal reasons after the recording and subsequent shows. "Alley Cat" is the first Seventh Wonder song to have an accompanying music video from the band. The 30-minute title track ''The Great Escape'' is the first (and so far only) song by the band to be longer than 10 minutes. It is an epic song based on the poems 'Aniara' by Swedish Nobel laureate Harry Martinson.
