The Grand Staircase is an immense sequence of sedimentary rock layers that stretch south from Bryce Canyon National Park and Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument, through Zion National Park, and into Grand Canyon National Park. Dutton divided this layer cake of Earth history into five steps from the youngest (uppermost) rocks: * Pink Cliffs * Grey Cliffs * White Cliffs *Vermilion Cliffs *Chocolate Cliffs Since then, modern geologists have further divided Dutton's steps into individual rock formations. Formations in the Grand Staircase starting with the youngest (uppermost) rocks: * Claron Formation *Kaiparowits Formation *Wahweap Formation *Straight Cliffs Formation *Tropic Shale *Dakota Sandstone *Carmel Formation * Temple Cap Formation ...

The series followed three interrelated families, from different social classes, in rural Pennsylvania: the wealthy Weldons, the impoverished Pasettis, and the middle class Smithsons. The Weldons were the wealthiest family in Grand, Pennsylvania. They owned the largest company, a piano factory which was starting to fall on hard times due to declining sales, a situation that patriarch Harris Weldon ( John Randolph) blamed on Asian imports. Grand Staircase Of The Titanic
The set of large ornate staircases in the first-class section of the RMS ''Titanic'', sometimes collectively referred to as the Grand Staircase, is one of the most recognizable features of the British transatlantic ocean liner which sank on her maiden voyage in 1912 after a collision with an iceberg. Reflecting and reinforcing the staircase's iconic status is its frequent, and prominent, portrayal in media. Historical descriptions The "Main Staircase" is described as follows in the ''"Olympic" / & "Titanic" / Largest Steamers in the World'' (1911), White Star Line publicity brochure with coloured illustrations: We leave the deck and pass through one of the doors which admit us to the interior of the vessel, and, as if by magic, we at once lose feeling that we are on board a ship, and seem instead to be entering the hall of some great house on shore. Dignified and simple oak panelling covers the walls, enriched in a few places by a bit of elaborate carved work, reminiscent ...

Grand Staircase (White House)
The Grand Staircase is the chief stairway connecting the State Floor and the Second Floor of the White House, the official home of the president of the United States. The stairway is primarily used for a ceremony called the Presidential Entrance March. The present Grand Staircase, the fourth staircase occupying the same general space, was completed in 1952 as a part of the Truman White House reconstruction. The Grand Staircase is entered on the State Floor from the Entrance Hall. Hoban and Latrobe’s staircases Though White House architect James Hoban originally located the main ceremonial staircase at the west end of the Cross Hall, he placed a staircase in the present site of the Grand Staircase in both his initial 1793 plan and 1814 reconstruction designs. No section study exists to illustrate either of Hoban’s staircases. Hoban’s original design of the Grand Staircase at the west end of the Cross Hall was altered by Benjamin Henry Latrobe in 1803 during the administration ...

Currency
A currency, "in circulation", from la, currens, -entis, literally meaning "running" or "traversing" is a standardization of money in any form, in use or circulation as a medium of exchange, for example banknotes and coins. A more general definition is that a currency is a ''system of money'' in common use within a specific environment over time, especially for people in a nation state. Under this definition, the British Pound Sterling (£), euros (€), Japanese yen (¥), and U.S. dollars (US$)) are examples of (government-issued) fiat currencies. Currencies may act as stores of value and be traded between nations in foreign exchange markets, which determine the relative values of the different currencies. Currencies in this sense are either chosen by users or decreed by governments, and each type has limited boundaries of acceptance - i.e. legal tender laws may require a particular unit of account for payments to government agencies. Other definitions of the term "curren ...
