The ''Dark Ages'' is a term for the Early Middle Ages, or occasionally the entire Middle Ages, in Western Europe after the fall of the Western Roman Empire that characterises it as marked by economic, intellectual and cultural decline. The concept of a "Dark Age" originated in the 1330s with the Italian scholar Petrarch, who regarded the post-Roman centuries as "dark" compared to the "light" of classical antiquity.. The Dark Age (Bungo Stray Dogs)
The second season of the '' Bungo Stray Dogs'' anime television series is produced by Bones, directed by Takuya Igarashi and written by Yōji Enokido. It is based on the manga series of the same name written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa. The first four episodes of the season are based on a light novel detailing Osamu Dazai's past in the mafia, while the remaining episodes follow the manga's storyline with the Armed Detective Agency in their fights against the Port Mafia and The Guild, who wish to take their member Atsushi Nakajima. The second season aired from October 6 to December 22, 2016. It was collected in a total of six Blu-ray and DVD volumes in Japan from December 23, 2016 to May 26, 2017. ''Dark Ages'' is the fifth studio album by American heavy metal band Soulfly. It was released on October 4, 2005. Album information The album explores aggression and dark themes to mourn the deaths of Max Cavalera's 8-month-old grandson, Moses, and his close friend Dimebag Darrell. ''Dark Ages'' was recorded in five countries – Serbia, Turkey, Russia, France, and the United States. Cavalera praised this album by calling it "unorthodox metal". Songs The album opens with an intro track "The Dark Ages", which continues into "Babylon", which explores worldwide chaos. "Arise Again" combines Metallica-like riffs and Sepultura-like echoes. Dark Age is a German metal band from Hamburg, Germany formed in 1994 under the name Dyer's Eve by Eike Freese (guitar, vocals), André Schumann (drums) and Oliver Fliegel (bass guitar). History In 1994, Eike Freese, André Schumann and Oliver Fliegel formed a death metal band called ''Dyer's Eve''. One year later the name was changed to Dark Age. The new name was inspired by a Vader song title, while their older one was inspired by a Metallica song title. In autumn 1995, they recorded their first demo ''Doubtful Existence''. In December 1995, keyboarder Martin Reichert and in January 1996 guitarist Finn Dierks joined the band. Oliver Fliegel left the band in 1996. After Finn Dierks moved to the U.S. he was replaced by Jörn Schubert. In Summer 1998, Dark Age recorded their first album entitled, ''The Fall'', which was released after a contract with Remedy Records. ''Kurt Busiek's Astro City'' is an American superhero anthology comic book series centered on a fictional American city of that name. Created and written by Kurt Busiek, the series is mostly illustrated by Brent Anderson, with character designs and painted covers by Alex Ross. The first volume was published from 1995 to 1996 by Image Comics. In 1996, a second volume was launched under the Homage Comics imprint of Image partner studio WildStorm, which was then acquired by DC Comics, where the series later transitioned to the WildStorm Signature Series imprint and continued until 2010. ''The Dark Age'' is a trilogy by Mark Chadbourn set around the beginning of the third millennium. While the previous series was a clear fantasy story, this has strings of gothic horror and existentialism woven into it. The three books are: * ''The Devil in Green'' (2002) * ''The Queen of Sinister'' (2004) * ''The Hounds of Avalon'' (2005) Although not a direct sequel to '' The Age of Misrule'', it is a continuation of the world established by the end of this trilogy, the events of which are referred to as the Fall. It is followed by the Kingdom of the Serpent. At first the books appear to be standalone novels, however ultimately they weave together to form one larger story, as sub-plots and themes coalesce in the final book, and only by reading that can you see how it all holds together.
