José Roberto da Silva Júnior (born 6 July 1974), commonly known as Zé Roberto, is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a left wing-back or as a midfielder. Currently, he is a technical advisor to Palmeiras, acting directly with the players and the coaching staff. Club career Early career Zé Roberto started in the youth ranks of Palestra de São Bernardo but it was while playing for Portuguesa, as a left-back, that he became known throughout Brazil after finishing as runner-up in 1996 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. He then joined Real Madrid in January 1997 for a brief spell, where he helped them win the 1996–97 Spanish league championship. He was also part of the Madrid's 1997–98 UEFA Champions League winning squad, scoring his only goal for the club in the opening group match against Rosenborg BK, before moving back to Brazil to play for Flamengo midway through the season. José Roberto Lages Guimarães (born 31 July 1954), known as Zé Roberto, is a Brazilian former volleyball player and current coach. He currently coaches Grêmio Recreativo Barueri. He played volleyball between years 1967–1988 as a professional player and has coached since 1988. He first coached Brazilian women team Eletropaulo. He competed in the men's tournament at the 1976 Summer Olympics. He coached Brazil Men between 1992–96 and has coached Brazil Women since 2003. He won Barcelona 1992 with Brazil Men and won Beijing 2008 and London 2012 with Brazil Women. He coached the women's team in the 2020 Summer Olympics, winning a silver medal. José Roberto Gomes Santana, commonly known as Zé Roberto (born September 13, 1978, in Pastos Bons) is an association footballer who last played for the San Diego Sockers in the Major Arena Soccer League. Zé Roberto began his career in his native Brazil, where he played with several clubs in the lower divisions. In 2002, he went abroad to North America to sign with the Hershey Wildcats of the A-League. After the Wildcats folded, Zé Roberto was signed by the Montreal Impact in 2002. In Montreal he played an important role that would transform the Impact into a league powerhouse that would eventually dominate the league for latter part of the decade. His accolades during his tenure with Montreal include the League Championship, Regular-Season Championship, and the Voyageurs Cup. José Roberto Assunção de Araújo Filho (born 14 September 1993), known as Zé Roberto, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a forward for Mirassol, on loan from Ceará. Club career Born in Teixeira de Freitas, Bahia, Zé Roberto represented Bahia as a youth. In 2012 he was loaned to Bahia de Feira, and made his senior debut on 12 April of that year by coming on as a substitute in a 5–2 home loss against São Paulo, for the season's Copa do Brasil.
