Zornotza Saskibaloi Taldea, also known as Ametx Zornotza for sponsorship reasons, is a basketball team based in Amorebieta-Etxano, Spain. History After several seasons in Primera División, the club rose to Liga EBA thanks to the expansion of the group A of the league. After three seasons in the fourth tier, the club surprisingly promoted to LEB Plata, where it played until 2017. Amorebieta-Etxano, also known as Zornotza (Spanish, ''Amorebieta-Echano''), is a town and municipality located in Biscay in the Basque Country, an Autonomous Community in northern Spain. At the time of the 2019 census, the population of the municipality was 19,339, with 16,907 inhabitants living in Amorebieta. The mayor is Andoni Agirrebeitia. The 2019–20 LEB Plata season was the 20th season of the Spanish basketball third league. It started on 21 September 2019 with the first round of the regular season and was curtailed on 25 May 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2018–19 LEB Plata season was the 19th season of the Spanish basketball third league. It started on 6 October 2018 with the first round of the regular season and ended on 25 May 2019 with the promotion playoffs.
