Zoltán Solymosi
Zoltán Solymosi (born 12 December 1967 in Budapest) is a Hungarian ballet dancer. He is a former Principal Dancer with a number of international ballet companies including the British Royal Ballet and the Dutch National Ballet. His younger brother, Tamas Solymosi is also a dancer. Early career Solymosi trained at the Budapest Ballet Academy in Budapest, Hungary. His first major engagement was in 1986 at the Dutch National Ballet. He left that company after a three-year stint stating of the experience, "Basically, I had personal problems with the director." to dance with the Munich State Opera in 1989. Solymosi went on in 1990 to dance at La Scala in Milan. Solymosi also during this time appeared as a guest artist with the Hungarian State Ballet in Budapest. ''The Judas Tree'' is a one-act ballet created by Kenneth MacMillan in 1992 for the Royal Ballet. The music is by Brian Elias. The first performance was on 19 March 1992, at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Kenneth MacMillan
Sir Kenneth MacMillan (11 December 192929 October 1992) was a British ballet dancer and choreographer who was artistic director of the Royal Ballet in London between 1970 and 1977, and its principal choreographer from 1977 until his death. Earlier he had served as director of ballet for the Deutsche Oper in Berlin. He was also associate director of the American Ballet Theatre from 1984 to 1989, and artistic associate of the Houston Ballet from 1989 to 1992. From a family with no background of ballet or music, MacMillan was determined from an early age to become a dancer. The director of Sadler's Wells Ballet, Ninette de Valois, accepted him as a student and then a member of her company. In the late 1940s, MacMillan built a successful career as a dancer, but, plagued by stage fright, he abandoned it while still in his twenties. ''Fanfare'' is a one-act ballet choreographed by Jerome Robbins to Benjamin Britten's ''The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra'', in celebration of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The ballet premiered on June 2, 1953, the night of the coronation, at the City Center of Music and Drama, danced by the New York City Ballet. Structure The ballet starts with a majordomo on stage reading Britten's explanatory text from the score, then proceeds to an ensemble performance with dancers representing different instruments, including three women as a piccolo and two flutes, a woman as the oboe, a man and a woman as the clarinets, two men as the bassoons, a man and a woman as the violas, three women as the cellos, a man as the double bass, a woman as the harp, two men as trumpets, four men as a tuba and three trombones and three men as the percussion instruments. Matthew Norman Hart (born 16 May 1972) is a former New Zealand cricketer. Hart, a left-arm orthodox spinner, played in 14 Tests between 1994 and 1996, claiming 29 wickets including one five-wicket haul against South Africa. Dame Darcey Andrea Bussell, (born Marnie Mercedes Darcey Pemberton Crittle; 27 April 1969) is an English retired ballerina and a former judge on the BBC television dance contest '' Strictly Come Dancing''.
