Ziraldo Alves Pinto
Ziraldo Alves Pinto (born October 24, 1932), usually referred to mononymically as Ziraldo, is a Brazilian author, painter, comic creator, and journalist. His books have sold about ten million copies, have been translated to many foreign languages and adapted to the theater and cinema. His children's books, such as the popular '' O Menino Maluquinho'', have also been the basis of successful films and television series in Brazil. Biography Ziraldo first published his work when he was six years old, a year before he started going to school. This was a drawing printed in the newspaper ''A Folha de Minas'' in 1938. He began working at the newspaper ''Folha de S.Paulo'' in 1954, with a column dedicated to humor. Ziraldo gained national notoriety when he worked at the magazine ''O Cruzeiro'' in 1957 and subsequently at '' Jornal do Brasil'' in 1963. Caratinga
Caratinga is a Municipalities of Brazil, municipality in eastern Minas Gerais state, Brazil. The population in 2020 was 92,603 inhabitants and the total area of the municipality was 1,251 km2. The elevation is 578 meters above sea level, with maximum elevation of 1,516 m in the Serra do Rio Preto and 330 m at the mouth of the Córrego Boachá. Daniela Thomas
Daniela Thomas (born 1959) is a Brazilian film director, screenwriter and editor. Early life In 1959, Thomas was born as Daniela Gontijo Alves Pinto in Brazil. Thomas' father is Ziraldo Alves Pinto, a cartoonist. Thomas' brother is Antonio Pinto. Career In 1994, Thomas co-directed her first feature film, ''Terra Estrangeira'' aka Foreign Land, alongside Walter Salles. Thomas is also its screenwriter and production designer. In 1998, Thomas debuted as a theatre director with her version of ''The Seagull'' by Anton Chekhov, starring Fernanda Montenegro and assisted by Luiz Päetow. In 2007, again with Salles, Thomas directed ''Linha de Passe'', the film which gave Sandra Corveloni a Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Antônio Pinto (composer)
Antônio Alves Pinto (born 1967) is a Brazilian film score composer. He is the son of the famous cartoonist Ziraldo and the brother of the film-maker Daniela Thomas. His work earned him a World Soundtrack Award and an ASCAP award, as well as a nomination in the Best Original Song category at the 65th Golden Globe Awards for writing the song " Despedida" with Shakira. He composed the soundtrack to ''The Mosquito Coast'' and played the key instruments. O Pasquim
''O Pasquim'' was a Brazilian weekly newspaper published in Rio de Janeiro from 1969 to the mid 1970s. It was critical of the military dictatorship and it is considered the founding periodical of Brazil's alternative press. The idea for the periodical began in 1968 after a meeting of cartoonist Jaguar with journalists Tarso de Castro and Sérgio Cabral. They were looking for an alternative to substitute Sergio Porto's tabloid ''A carapuça''.
