Zimmerdale is an unincorporated community in Harvey County, Kansas, United States. The community is located along Old Highway 81 and a railroad line between Hesston and Newton. Area code 620 covers telephone exchanges in most of southern Kansas. It was created as the result of a split from 316 on February 3, 2001. The area code stretches across the southern half of the state, from the Colorado border in the west to the Missouri border in the east. It completely surrounds 316, which now only serves Wichita and its inner suburbs, making it one of the six pairs of "doughnut area codes" in the numbering plan. Permissive dialing of 316 across southern Kansas continued until November 3, 2001. The most populous cities covered by the area code are Dodge City, Garden City, Hutchinson and Pittsburg. 620 was created due to the growing proliferation of cell phones in the Wichita area. Edwards County (county code ED) is a county located in the U.S. states of Kansas. As of the 2020 census, the county population was 2,907, Its county seat and most populous city is Kinsley. Trousdale, Kansas
Trousdale is an unincorporated community in Lincoln Township, Edwards County, Kansas, United States. History The community began when a railroad junction was constructed in 1915. It is named for a Newton, Kansas resident who owned land in the vicinity. At its peak it boasted a bank (which closed during the Depression), Trousdale Grade School and High School, several retail establishments, and two grain elevators. A high line was built to the community in 1927 to provide electrical service. A post office was opened in Trousdale in 1916, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1967. In 2006, the Trousdale Methodist Church, a repair shop/parts store, a grain storage facility, and an unmanned fuel retail outlet were the only businesses in addition to family farming operations that were in Trousdale. Kansas
Kansas () is a state in the Midwestern United States. Its capital is Topeka, and its largest city is Wichita.
