Zhiwei Yun
Zhiwei Yun (; born September 1982) is a Professor of Mathematics at MIT specializing in number theory, algebraic geometry and representation theory, with a particular focus on the Langlands program. He was previously a C. L. E. Moore instructor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2010 to 2012, assistant professor then associate professor at Stanford University from 2012 to 2016, and professor at Yale University from 2016 to 2017. Education Yun was born in Changzhou, China. As a high schooler, he participated in the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2000; he received a gold medal with a perfect score. Yun received his bachelor's degree from Peking University in 2004. In 2009, he received his Ph.D. from Princeton University, under the direction of Robert MacPherson. Maryna Sergiivna Viazovska ( uk, Марина Сергіївна Вязовська, ; born 2 December 1984) is a Ukrainian mathematician known for her work in sphere packing. In mathematics, the Gan–Gross–Prasad conjecture is a restriction problem in the representation theory of real or p-adic Lie groups posed by Gan Wee Teck, Benedict Gross, and Dipendra Prasad. In mathematics, the Taylor series or Taylor expansion of a function is an infinite sum of terms that are expressed in terms of the function's derivatives at a single point.
