Zdravko Zovko
Zdravko Zovko (born 28 May 1955) is a retired Croatian handball player. Career Zovko spent his entire playing career in RK Medveščak from Zagreb and in Syracuse, Sicily, for C.C. Ortigia. He won three Yugoslav Cups with the club and during his last season at the club got to the semi-finals of the EHF Cup Winners' Cup. In Italy he won three italian championship in a row. Zovko competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics, representing Yugoslavia. He played in six matches and contributed with five goals to win the gold medal. Apart for winning the Olympic gold Zovko won a silver and bronze medal for Yugoslavia at the 1982 & 1974 World Championships. As a manager he has coached RK Zagreb, KC Veszprém and RK Podravka, before joining Zvezda Zvenigorod in May 2011. In April 2013 Zovko became the assistant coach of Slavko Goluža in the Croatian national handball team. World Men's Handball Championship
The IHF Men's Handball World Championship has been organized indoor by the International Handball Federation since 1938. In the twenty-seven tournaments held, eleven nations have won the title. France is the most successful team with six titles, followed by Sweden and Romania with four titles each. The current champion is Denmark, which won its second title at the 2021 tournament in Egypt. Yugoslav Handball Championship
The Yugoslav Handball Championship was the highest level competition in men's team handball in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, played regularly for almost four decades between 1953 and 1992, before being abandoned due to the breakup of Yugoslavia. History The first five editions from 1953 to 1957 were decided via a finals play-off tournament contested by clubs who had qualified in regional competitions, before a regular round-robin league format was introduced for the 1957–58 season. Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team.
