Zdena (river)
Zdena ( Bosnian: Rijeka Zdena; Serbian Cyrillic: Ријека Здена) is a river in the northwestern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a left tributary of the Sana, with which it connects in the center of Sanski Most.The source of Zdena is a new plant for the distribution of drinking water to the citizens of Sanski Most. Salmonid water is common and used to be full of grayling and brown trout. Unfortunately, grayling is now only in traces due to high water pollution, mostly due to the direct discharge of sewage. Geography The river Zdena is 5 km long and springs in the suburb of the same name. Zdena is characterized by its winding course, broken into several tributaries, which meet again in the city center where it flows into the river Sana. Sanski Most ( sr-cyrl, Сански Мост, ) is a town and municipality located in the Una-Sana Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Zdena Salivarová
Zdena Salivarová (born October 21, 1933) is a Czech-born writer and translator living in Canada. She was born in Prague and studied script-writing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She came to Toronto in the year 1969 with her husband Josef Škvorecký following the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia. During the 1960s, she worked as a singer and actress. In 1968, she published a collection of short stories ''Pánská jízda''. With her husband, she founded a publishing house in Toronto, 68 Publishers, which published Czech books that were banned in communist Czechoslovakia. Salivarová and her husband wrote ''Samožerbuch'' (1977) about the history of the publishing house. She received the Egon Hostovský award in 1976. With her husband, she was named to the Order of the White Lion in 1990 for their work in promoting Czech literature.
