Zayeltsovsky District (russian: Заельцовский район) is an administrative district (raion) of Central Okrug, one of the 10 raions of Novosibirsk, Russia. The area of the district is 83 sq km (32 sq mi). Population: 149, 100 (2017). History Zayeltsovsky City District was established March 25, 1940. Novosibirsk (, also ; rus, Новосиби́рск, p=nəvəsʲɪˈbʲirsk, a=ru-Новосибирск.ogg) is the largest city and administrative centre of Novosibirsk Oblast and Siberian Federal District in Russia. Krasny Prospekt (russian: Красный проспект) or Krasny Avenue is the central street and major thoroughfare in the city of Novosibirsk, Russia. Its length is about 7 km. The Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (russian: Собор Рождества Пресвятой Богородицы) is the cathedral of the of the Russian Orthodox Old-Rite Church. It was built between 1990 and 1999. The cathedral is located in Zayeltsovsky District, Novosibirsk. History The design was drawn up in 1989 by architects A.P. and E.A. Dolnakov. On September 21, 1990, Metropolitan of Moscow and All Russia consecrated a place for the construction of the church near Bestuzhev Street in Zayeltsovsky District. A professional team of builders was hired only for the construction of foundations. The entire construction was carried out by an experienced builder O. F. Glebkin. The Novosibirsk Zoo named after Rostislav Alexandrovich Shilo (russian: Новосибирский зоопарк имени Ростислава Александровича Шило) is a scientific institution as well as a popular tourist attraction. Zayeltsovsky Park is a park in Zayeltsovsky District of Novosibirsk, Russia. It was created in 1932. The park is located in Zayeltsovsky Pine Forest. Small West Siberian Railway
The Small West Siberian Railway or Novosibirsk Children's Railway (Russian: Малая Западно-Сибирская железная дорога, ''Malaya Zapadno-Sibirskaya zheleznaya doroga'') is a narrow gauge miniature railway in the Russian city Novosibirsk. The first section of the railway line was opened on 4 June 2005 as one of the many children's railways in Russia. It is still in use every day in summer except Mondays. Yana Stanislavovna "Yanka" Dyagileva (russian: Яна Станиславовна Дягилева; 4 September 1966 – 1991) was a Russian poet and singer-songwriter and one of the most popular figures of her time in Russia's underground punk scene. She both played solo and performed with others, including Yegor Letov and bands Grazhdanskaya Oborona and Velikiye Oktyabri ("Great Octobers"). Dyagileva was greatly influenced by Letov and Alexander Bashlachev, who were her friends. Her songs explored themes of desperation and depression, punk-style nihilism, and folk-like lamentations. Her death in 1991 has been considered as a symbolic end to the Siberian punk scene.
