Zarsanga or Zar Sanga ( ps, زرڅانگه)(born 1946 in Lakki Marwat) is a Pashto singer from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. She began her singing career singing for Radio Peshawar and some television programmes, and later went on to perform in Europe, the United States and the UAE. Her extensive career as a singer and performer has earned her the sobriquet "The Queen Of Pashtun Folklore" and the Pride of Performance Award. Personal life Zarsanga was born in 1946 in a small village of Bannu Lakki Marwat, North-West Frontier Province British India (now Pakistan). She was born into the nomadic tribe Kutanree (Kutan), who travel mostly between Pashto area from Punjab and Sindh covering the areas of Bannu Road from Dera Ismail Khan, Kohat and Peshawar. Some of them travel as far as Afghanistan and stay there in summer and return to the southern districts of Khyber Pashtunkhwa during the winter. Dera Ismail Khan (; bal, , Urdu and skr, , ps, ډېره اسماعيل خان), abbreviated as D.I. Khan, is a city and capital of Dera Ismail Khan District, located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The Durand Line ( ps, د ډیورنډ کرښه; ur, ), forms the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, a international land border between Pakistan and Afghanistan in South Asia. The western end runs to the border with Iran and the eastern end to the border with China. Khyal Muhammad
Ustad Khyal Muhammad (, born 1946) is a Pashtun singer from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. He has appeared regularly on television, usually singing ghazals and in movies. Career Khyal Mohammad belongs to the Afridi tribe of Pushtuns. He is originally from Tirah in Khyber Tribal District. He was born in Peshawar on 5 January 1946 to a musical family. His brother Saif Ul-Maluk was a popular singer in the 1960s, who often performed on Radio Peshawar. Saif introduced him to the radio station, where he first performed in 1958 at age of thirteen. However, for the next ten years he mainly restricted himself to playing instruments such as the tabla and harmonium. In the late 1960s he began singing and recording ghazals, traditional Pashto poems, a daring gamble since the music scene at that time was dominated by folk music. Bacha Zareen Jan ( – 26 July 2012; sometimes spelled Bacha Zarin), known by her pen name Bibi Gul, also by the honorary title "Queen of Pashto Ghazals", was a Pashto multilingual Pakistani gazal singer, lyricist and musician who primarily sung songs in different languages such as Persian, Hindko, Punjabi, Seraiki, Urdu and predominantly in Pashto language. She debuted in music industry with a song titled "Gila Da Khpalo Keegi" at Radio Pakistan in 1948.
