Zamurrad (born 1946) is a former Pakistani film actress who performed in Lollywood movies from the 1960s to 1980s. Life and career ''Zamurrad'' was born as ''Zumurrad Sultana'' in 1946 in Amritsar, British India. She started her acting career in 1958 in the Urdu film "''Hasart''". She played the role of actor Yousaf Khan's sister in the film. Since then, she worked in more than 150 Urdu, Punjabi, and Pashto films, mostly in supporting roles. Her notable movies include '' Saheli'' (1960), ''Gulfam'' (1961), ''Azra'' (1962), ''Badnaam'' (1966), ''Maa Baap'' (1967), '' Saiqa'' (1968), '' Naseeb Apna Apna'' (1970), ''Heer Ranjha'' (1970), and ''Ziddi'' (1973). Her last film "''Sajra Piyar''" was released in 2016. During the 1970s, ''Zamurrad'' was regarded as one of the most prominent film actresses of Punjabi cinema in Pakistan. ''Saiqa'' is a 1968 Pakistani Urdu romantic film directed by Laiq Akhtar and produced by Shamim Ara. The film was based on Razia Butt's novel by the same name. The lead cast included Shamim Ara, Mohammad Ali, Darpan, Lehri, and Zamurrad. Saiqa won 9 Nigar Awards in various categories, including the "Best Film" of the year. ''Saheli'' () is a 1960 Pakistani Urdu language music blockbuster classical film directed by S. M. Yusuf and co-produced by F. M. Sardar. It is written by Hasrat Lakhnavi while music is composed by A. Hameed. It features Nayyar Sultana, Shamim Ara and Darpan (actor) in the lead while supporting actors features Aslam Pervaiz along with others. It was screened in 2016 by the Lok Virsa Museum. Saheli is the first film of Yusuf to be made in the country after he migrated to Pakistan, and the 1960s first prominent film of Nayyar Sultana, Shamim Ara and Darpan, leading the film to celebrate silver Jubilee. ''Azra'' is a 1962 Pakistani costume film directed by Munshi Dil, and produced by Agha G. A. Gul under Evernew Pictures banner. Neelo played the title role in the film opposite Ejaz. The film is based on the legend of Azra Wameq. Music of the film was composed by Inayat Hussain. Although the film was in black and white, some of the songs were featured in color. Heer Ranjha (Gurmukhi: ਹੀਰ ਰਾਂਝਾ; Shahmukhi & Urdu: ) is a Pakistani Punjabi film released in 1970, based on the classic epic story of Heer Ranjha by the Sufi poet Waris Shah. Plot The film revolves around Heer (Firdous), a girl born into a wealthy family, and Ranjha (Ejaz Durrani) the youngest of four brothers, whose journey from his own village takes him to the village where Heer lives after the wives of his brothers refuse him food and mock him.
