Zagreb Jewish Film Festival
The Zagreb Jewish Film Festival (JFF) is an annual film festival held in Zagreb, Croatia which is dedicated to preservation of memories on Holocaust and on raising public awareness about the importance of tolerance. JFF was originated for the first time in 2007 under license and in collaboration with UK Jewish Film Festival. Festival is organized by the NGO also called Jewish Film Festival headed by Academy-Award-winner Branko Lustig. The festival takes place at the Zagreb Cinema Europa, one of the most beautiful and oldest art-cinemas in the area. Festival sections Film program Zagreb Jewish Film Festival's film programme, which includes feature films, documentaries and short films, is held at Cinema Europa. Zagreb
Zagreb ( , , , ) is the capital (political), capital and List of cities and towns in Croatia#List of cities and towns, largest city of Croatia. The Holocaust
The Holocaust, also known as the Shoah, was the genocide of European Jews during World War II. Severina Vučković (born 21 April 1972), better known mononymously as Severina, is a Croatian singer-songwriter and actress. James Foley (born December 28, 1953) is an American film director. His 1986 film ''At Close Range'' was entered into the 36th Berlin International Film Festival. Mirko Ilić (born 1 January 1956) is a Bosnian-born comics artist and graphic designer based in New York City. Yugoslavian period Ilić was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina. His life, schooling and most of his Yugoslav-period-career was located at Zagreb, Croatia. Milan Bandić
Milan Bandić (22 November 1955 – 28 February 2021) was a Croatian politician and the longest-serving List of mayors of Zagreb, mayor of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Damir Urban (born 19 September 1968) is a Croatian rock musician best known for his work as a singer/songwriter for Laufer and for his solo work with his band Urban & 4. Early years Damir Urban was born on 19 September 1968 in Rijeka, Croatia, a city that is today well known for its rock scene, where he founded his first band La Bellona as the bassist and main songwriter. Nenad Puhovski (born 29 April 1949) is a Croatian film director and producer. Early years Puhovski was born 29 April 1949 in Zagreb, Croatia (then a part of Yugoslavia) where he attended elementary and high school.
