Zack Cohen
Zack Cohen (Born Zachary Cohen, June 24) is the CEO of and co-owner of Fox Fuse. Cohen oversees distribution, licensing, bookings and artist management for Fox Fuse. His partner at Fox Fuse is Rhona Fox. Cohen manages artist Stein, and has worked on several projects from reggae icon Shaggy to soca star Farmer Nappy, for the New York-based Fox Fuse. Cohen also handles Music Business Affairs for various production houses across the Caribbean and has worked on numerous albums in that capacity, as well as providing A&R and Art Direction services. In July 2015, Cohen was interviewed by Billboard in an article on the international success of pop star Rihanna and the ensuing growth of Caribbean music, especially in her homeland of Barbados. Rhona Fox is an American businesswoman of Indo-Guyanese descent who founded the soca music record label Fox Fuse. Crop Over is a traditional harvest festival which began in Barbados, having had its early beginnings on the sugar cane plantations during slavery. History The original crop-over tradition began in 1687 as a way to mark the end of the yearly harvest, but was wide-spread throughout the region at the time, including in St. Vincent, Trinidad and Jamaica. As such, it still shares similarities with Carnival in Brazil and Trinidad. Many crop-over celebrations were organized and sponsored by planters, who used gifts of food and liquor as a means of reenforcing and excusing the continued enslavement of their labour force.
