Zachary Sukunda
Zachary Joseph Eli Sukunda (born June 24, 1995) is a Canadian soccer player who plays for Valour FC in the Canadian Premier League. Early life Sukunda was born in Ottawa, Ontario. He began playing youth soccer with Brockville SC, before moving on to Ottawa South United and then to the Ottawa Fury Academy. He later played youth soccer with AS Hull. In 2011, after attending a scouting camp in Toronto, he was invited to trial and then play with the youth system of French club AJ Auxerre. In 2012, Sukunda joined the Montreal Impact Academy. Club career In 2015, he began his senior career, signing with the Montreal Impact's second team FC Montreal in the USL. He made his professional debut on April 18, 2015 against the Harrisburg City Islanders. He scored his first professional goal on June 21, 2016, in a 3-2 victory over the Harrisburg City Islanders. HFX Wanderers FC
HFX Wanderers Football Club, commonly known as HFX Wanderers, and spoken as Halifax Wanderers, is a Canadian professional Association football, soccer club in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The club competes in the Canadian Premier League at the top of the Canadian soccer league system, and play their home matches at Wanderers Grounds. History In December 2016, Sports & Entertainment Atlantic owner Derek Martin met with Canadian Premier League officials to discuss launching a franchise in Halifax. Martin pitched the idea of a pop-up stadium to Halifax Regional Council, Halifax City Councillors in March 2017, and approval was given three months later. On May 5, 2018, Halifax was one of four groups accepted by the Canadian Soccer Association for professional club membership. Canadian Premier League
The Canadian Premier League (CPL or CanPL; french: Première ligue canadienne, links=no) is a professional men's Association football, soccer league in Canada. At the top of the Canadian soccer league system, it is the country's primary national soccer league competition. The league consists of eight teams, from five of provinces and territories of Canada, Canada's ten provinces. Each team plays 28 games in the regular season which is followed by playoffs culminating in the Canadian Premier League Finals, CPL Finals. The CPL champion and regular season winner earn berths in the CONCACAF Champions League, competing against teams from across North America, Central America and Caribbean for a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup. The 1984 Summer Olympics (officially the Games of the XXIII Olympiad and also known as Los Angeles 1984) were an international multi-sport event held from July 28 to August 12, 1984, in Los Angeles, California, United States. Eli Sukunda
Eli Sukunda (born 10 April 1949) is a Canadian fencer. He competed at the 1976 and 1984 Summer Olympics. Biography Sukunda began as a track and field athlete. He came 2nd at OFSAA All Ontario championships in the junior 120-yard hurdles. At the 1968 Canadian Junior Track and Field Championships, he came 1st in the 440-yard hurdles. He attended Wayne State University on a Scholar-Athlete bursary as a track and field athlete. He studied English literature and graduated magna cum laude. In his third year of university, Sukunda met Istvan Danosi, the head coach of Wayne State's fencing program. Sukunda trained under Danosi in 1968, 1969 and 1970. After 1970, Sukunda trained himself. For his master's degree in English literature, Sukunda attended the University of Toronto. The National Premier Leagues Victoria, commonly known as NPL Victoria, is a semi-professional soccer league in Victoria, Australia. The league is a part of the National Premier Leagues, and is the highest level within the Victorian soccer league system, serving jointly as the second tier within the overall Australian pyramid. Administered by Football Victoria, NPL Victoria is the latest iteration of first division competitions in the state. Historically known as the Victorian State League and later as the Victorian Premier League, the league was first founded in 1908 as the Victorian Amateur League and would soon become the Victorian First Division.
