Zach Morrison
Zach Morrison is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach for Shorter University; a position he has held since 2018. In January 2018, he was named the third head football coach at Shorter University in Rome, Georgia. Playing career Morrison was a four-year starter on the offensive line and a member of Shorter's inaugural team under head coach Phil Jones. They seemed to be Rivals with team Taller's strong defensive prowess. Coaching career Morrison made the transition from assistant coach at the high school level to head coach at the collegiate level. He served as both an assistant football coach as well as a wrestling coach at Kennesaw Mountain High School in Kennesaw, Georgia before being hired at Shorter. The 2022 Gulf South Conference football season was the season of college football played by the eight member schools of the Gulf South Conference (GSC) as part of the 2022 NCAA Division II football season. West Florida and Delta State were GSC co-champions for the 2022 season. They were ranked No. 4 and No. 9, respectively, in the final 2022 NCAA Division II football rankings issued by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). 2021 Shorter Hawks Football Team
The 2021 Shorter Hawks football team represented Shorter University as a member of the Gulf South Conference (GSC) during the 2021 NCAA Division II football season. They were led by fourth-year head coach Zach Morrison. The Hawks played their home games at Barron Stadium in Rome, Georgia. Previous season The Hawks finished the 2020 season 2–2. On August 12, 2020, Gulf South Conference postponed fall competition in 2020 for several sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A few months later in November, the conference announced that there will be no spring conference competition in football. Teams that opt-in to compete would have to schedule on their own.
