Zacapa () is the departmental capital municipality of Zacapa Department, one of the 22 Departments of Guatemala. It is located approximately from Guatemala City. Sports Football club Deportivo Zacapa competes in Guatemala's top division and play their home games at the Estadio David Ordoñez Bardales. Their team mascot is the Gallo (rooster). Etymology Historian and poet, Capitán Don Francisco Antonio De Fuentes Y Guzmán notes in his ''Remembrance Florida,'' the name Zacapa derives from Nahuatl Zacatl meaning grass or weed, and apan meaning in the river, a word which in turn is composed of atl also meaning water, river, and apan. Zacapa means on the river of grass. Flag Of Guatemala
The flag of Guatemala, often referred to as "Pabellón Nacional" (literally, "National Flag") or "Azul y Blanco" ("Blue and White") features two colors: Sky blue and white. The two Sky blue stripes represent the fact that Guatemala is a land located between two oceans, the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean (Caribbean sea); and the sky over the country (see Guatemala's national anthem). Semi-arid Climate
A semi-arid climate, semi-desert climate, or steppe climate is a dry climate sub-type. It is located on regions that receive precipitation below potential evapotranspiration, but not as low as a desert climate. Francisco Antonio De Fuentes Y Guzmán
Francisco Antonio de Fuentes y Guzmán (1643–1700) was a Guatemalan ''criollo'' historian and poet. His only surviving work is the '' Recordación Florida''. Biography Fuentes y Guzmán was born to a wealthy family in Santiago de los Caballeros de Guatemala (modern Antigua Guatemala) in 1643. He was the great-great-grandson of the conquistador Bernal DÃaz del Castillo,Warren 1973, p. 105. historian of the Indies. Fuentes y Guzmán was a nobleman and a member of the ruling ''criollo'' caste.Luján Muñoz 1990, p. 105. In 1661, at the age of eighteen, Fuentes y Guzmán was given the position of Regidor Perpetuo de Guatemala (permanent councillor on the town council of Santiago). The Köppen climate classification is one of the most widely used climate classification systems. It was first published by German-Russian climatologist Wladimir Köppen (1846–1940) in 1884, with several later modifications by Köppen, notably in 1918 and 1936. Later, the climatologist Rudolf Geiger (1894–1981) introduced some changes to the classification system, which is thus sometimes called the Köppen–Geiger climate classification system.
