ZDFdokukanal
ZDFdokukanal was a TV station between 1 April 2000 and 31 October 2009 and part of the digital TV package offered by ZDF. Distribution The program was broadcast nationwide via the TV cable networks (DVB-C) and the satellite Astra 19.2°E (DVB-S). In the regions where DVB-T was available, ZDFdokukanal could be also received via antenna between 9 pm and 6 am, alternating with KiKa. It was also included in the IPTV offer of some DSL providers. Programming The station provided background information on nature, science, history and society. Since May 2009, the station has been transformed into a youth and family station in which the proportion of the documentaries has gradually been reduced and the number of entertainment programming has been increased. ZDFneo
ZDFneo is a German free-to-air television channel, programmed for an audience aged 25 to 49 to counter the primarily older-skewing main channels of public broadcasters ZDF and ARD. It replaced ZDF's documentary channel ZDFdokukanal on 1 November 2009. History On 1 October 2017, the station was to receive a new on-air design and a new broadcasting logo; this was brought forward to 26 September 2017. Distribution ZDFneo is broadcast (along with the rest of ZDFvision) via DVB-T digital terrestrial television, receivable in most areas of Germany. It is also transmitted in DVB-C through German cable networks, and in DVB-S from the Astra 1H satellite. Since 30 April 2012, ZDFneo has been broadcast in HD (720p). The program was initially only scaled up by 576i, since ZDFneo had no HD-capable playout at this time. Since mid-May 2015, the program is broadcast in native HD quality. ZDFinfo is a German free-to-air documentary television channel owned by ZDF. It was launched on 27 August 1997 as ZDFinfokanal, and later rebranded as ZDFinfo on 5 September 2011. ZDFtheaterkanal was a TV station and part of the digital TV package offered by ZDF. The channel was broadcast daily from 9 am until 2 am the following day, starting on 9 December 1999. The broadcasting was stopped on 7 May 2011 in favor of ZDFkultur. The program was broadcast nationwide via the TV cable network (DVB-C) and the Astra 19.2°E (DVB-S). In addition, the channel was accessible via the IPTV offers Telekom Entertain and as well as with via Zattoo. In the summer of 2008, plans were presented to convert ''ZDFtheaterkanal'' into a cultural channel. On 7 May 2011, at 6:30 am, the new channel ZDFkultur started and replaced ZDFtheaterkanal to cover the topics of music, performing arts, film culture, network culture and gaming. 576i is a standard-definition television, standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for digitizing analog television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. The 2008 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2008 or simply Euro 2008, was the 13th UEFA European Championship, a quadrennial football tournament contested by the member nations of UEFA (the Union of European Football Associations).
