ZDFtheaterkanal
ZDFtheaterkanal was a TV station and part of the digital TV package offered by ZDF. The channel was broadcast daily from 9 am until 2 am the following day, starting on 9 December 1999. The broadcasting was stopped on 7 May 2011 in favor of ZDFkultur. The program was broadcast nationwide via the TV cable network (DVB-C) and the Astra 19.2°E (DVB-S). In addition, the channel was accessible via the IPTV offers Telekom Entertain and as well as with via Zattoo. In the summer of 2008, plans were presented to convert ''ZDFtheaterkanal'' into a cultural channel. On 7 May 2011, at 6:30 am, the new channel ZDFkultur started and replaced ZDFtheaterkanal to cover the topics of music, performing arts, film culture, network culture and gaming. ZDFdokukanal
ZDFdokukanal was a TV station between 1 April 2000 and 31 October 2009 and part of the digital TV package offered by ZDF. Distribution The program was broadcast nationwide via the TV cable networks (DVB-C) and the satellite Astra 19.2°E (DVB-S). In the regions where DVB-T was available, ZDFdokukanal could be also received via antenna between 9 pm and 6 am, alternating with KiKa. It was also included in the IPTV offer of some DSL providers. Programming The station provided background information on nature, science, history and society. Since May 2009, the station has been transformed into a youth and family station in which the proportion of the documentaries has gradually been reduced and the number of entertainment programming has been increased. ZDFkultur (stylized as zdf.kultur) was a German free-to-air Free-to-air (FTA) services are television (TV) and radio services broadcast in unencrypted form, allowing any person with the FTA Receiver, appropriate receiving equipment to receive the signal and view or listen to the content without requiring ... television channel owned by ZDF. 576i is a standard-definition television, standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for digitizing analog television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. ''Disco'' was a pop music program that aired in West Germany on the ZDF network from 1971 to 1982. It generally aired on the first Saturday of each month at 7:30PM, each show running 45 minutes. 133 shows were produced. The show was hosted by German actor and comedian Ilja Richter. Its lesser known predecessor on ZDF, ''4-3-2-1 Hot & Sweet'' was aired between 1966 and 1970, presenters included Ilja Richter and Suzanne Doucet. ''Disco'' generally served a younger pop-oriented audience compared to ZDF's own ''Hitparade'' show, and until 1972, its main competitor was ''Beat-Club'' (originally patterned after the pure live-act show ''Ready Steady Go!'' in the UK, from the late-1960s turning more and more into psychedelic music videos made especially for the invited acts), followed by ''Musikladen'', both on ARD. The ''ZDF-Hitparade'', or ''Hitparade'' for short, by German TV channel ZDF, was one of the most popular and most well-known music television series presenting mostly German Schlager. From 1969 to 1984 the presenter was Dieter Thomas Heck. The last show was aired on 16 December 2000. History The music show was developed by ''Truck Branss'' and Dieter Thomas Heck and first broadcast on January 18, 1969. The original theme song was written in 1968 by James Last and remained a hallmark of the show until the last show of host Dieter Thomas Heck on December 15, 1984. The first host was Dieter Thomas Heck, who presented once a month on Saturday at half past seven. Various performers sang their current songs, predominantly Schlager.
