Adrianus Zwart
Adrianus Johannes "Arie" Zwart (30 August 1903, in Rijswijk – 27 August 1981, in Laren) was a Dutch painter and in his early work one of the last painters of the Hague School. Life Zwart studied at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague in 1918 and 1919. Until 1926 he worked also as a graphic designer. Zwart travelled in the 1920s with a car and later with a boat though the Netherlands to paint the traditional life and landscape of the country. After 1949 he traveled to foreign countries and left the traditional Dutch painting. Harald Zwart
Harald Zwart (born 1 July 1965) is a Dutch-Norwegian film director. Life and career Although born in the Netherlands, Zwart was raised in Fredrikstad, Norway. By age eight, he had started making short films. He attended the Dutch Film Academy in Amsterdam where he received great acclaim for his student film ''Gabriel's Surprise''. The film was later televised. In addition to several award-winning short films, music videos and commercials, he directed the films ''Agent Cody Banks'', '' One Night at McCool's'', ''Hamilton'' and ''Lange Flate Ballær 2''. He is also the co-director and producer of the first ''Long Flat Balls'', a Norwegian film about soccer fans from the city of Fredrikstad, Norway. Jeffrey "Jeff" R. Zwart (born 24 May 1955) is an American commercial film director, racer, photographer, cameraman and author for Porsche, BMW, Cadillac, General Motors, Hyundai, Ford and more. Life and career Zwart was born in Long Beach, California, and learned to drive in his father’s 1964 Porsche 901, chassis number 35. Growing up next door to his childhood friend and future automotive designer, Freeman Thomas, the two shared a lifelong obsession with automobiles and Porsches in particular. In high school, Zwart worked as a veterinary assistant in order to save enough money to eventually purchase a yellow Porsche 914/6. Piet Zwart (; 28 May 1885 – 24 September 1977) was a Dutch photographer, typographer, and industrial designer. Biography Early life Piet Zwart was born on May 28, 1885 in Zaandijk. He trained as an architect, and began graphic design projects at age 36. His training as an architect included designing furniture and interiors. He was influenced by the De Stijl movement, which focused on the essentials of form, colour and line, but later moved to a more functional design aesthetic. In the early 1920s Zwart received his first typographic commissions from Laga, a flooring manufacturer. Zwart had no formal training in typography or printing, so he was uninhibited by the rules and methods of traditional professional practices. Zwart regarded typography as an important cultural force of the 20th-century.
