Demetrius Zvonimir Of Croatia
Demetrius Zvonimir ( hr, Dmitar Zvonimir, ; died 1089) was a King of Croatia and Dalmatia, King of Dalmatia and Croatia from 1076 until his death in 1089. He was crowned as king in Solin, Croatia, Solin on 8 October 1076. Zvonimir also served as Ban of Croatia (1064–1074), and was named Duke of Croatia in around 1075. His native name was Zvonimir; he adopted the forename Demetrius at his coronation. He first served as ban (title), ban in the service of King Peter Krešimir IV. Afterwards, Peter Krešimir IV appointed him duke and declared him as his heir. In 1075, Demetrius Zvonimir succeeded to the Croatian throne through papal diplomacy. Zvonimir Boban
Zvonimir "Zvone" Boban (; born 8 October 1968) is a Croatian former footballer who currently works at UEFA as the Chief of Football. Boban played as a midfielder and was usually deployed as an attacking midfielder. He played most of his professional career for Italian club Milan with whom he won four Serie A titles and one UEFA Champions League title. He also captained the Croatia national team which won third place at the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Before 1990 and the international recognition of Croatia's national team, Boban had played for the Yugoslavia under-20 team which won the 1987 World Youth Championship. Zvonimir Vukić
Zvonimir Vukić (; born 19 July 1979) is a Serbian former footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. A former Serbia and Montenegro international, Vukić appeared at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Club career Vukić started out at his hometown club Proleter Zrenjanin, making his senior debut in the 1996–97 season, aged 17. He became a first-team regular in the following 1997–98 campaign, attracting the attention of numerous domestic and foreign clubs. In the summer of 1998, Vukić was snapped by Spanish club Atlético Madrid. Zvonimir Soldo (born 2 November 1967) is a Croatian football manager and a former player. During his playing career, he mostly played as defensive midfielder. Club career Early career After studying law for six semesters at the University of Zagreb, Soldo's parents convinced him to pursue a career as professional football player. Soldo's professional career began with NK Dinamo Zagreb which he left for NK Zadar after two years. 1991 through 1994, he played for NK Inter Zaprešić before returning to his former club, now named NK Croatia Zagreb. Zvonimir Berković
Zvonimir Berković (1 August 1928 – 9 June 2009) was a Croatian film director and screenwriter. Berković had studied film directing at the Zagreb Academy of Drama Arts. His screenwriting career began in the mid-1950s, his most notable work being Nikola Tanhofer's 1958 film '' H-8'', for which he co-authored the screenplay with Tomislav Butorac. He had his directing debut with the 1962 documentary short ''My Flat'' (''Moj stan''), which offered an ironic portrayal of living standards in the socialist-style prefabricated housing projects. The film earned him a Special Jury Prize at the 1963 Cannes Film Festival. His feature directing debut was the 1966 film ''Rondo'', which starred acclaimed Yugoslav actors Relja Bašić, Milena Dravić and Stevo Žigon, and which is today regarded as a classic of Yugoslav and Croatian cinema. Zvonimir Šeparović
Zvonimir Šeparović (14 September 1928 – 30 January 2022) was a Croatian jurist and politician. Biography Šeparović was a professor of Criminal Law at the University of Zagreb and rector of the University from 1989 to 1991. He was also known as the pioneer of victimology and a vocal opponent of death penalty. Although he lacked any formal party or political affiliation, in 1991 he became foreign minister in the "National Government" of Franjo Gregurić. In 1992 he became the Permanent Representative of Croatia to the United Nations. He remained active in public life and did at one point become both a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) as well as a member of the party's Central Committee. Zvonimir Serdarušić (; born 2 September 1950) is a Croatian former professional handball coach and player who competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics for Yugoslavia. In May 1998, he also acquired German citizenship. Career Yugoslavia Serdarušić began his handball career in RK Velež from Mostar. After three seasons he moved to RK Bosna Sarajevo. In two seasons with Bosna Sarajevo he moved up from the third league to the first. In 1973 Serdarušić moved to Partizan Bjelovar. He stayed at the club for seven years winning the First League twice in 1977 and 1979, and the Cup once in 1977. Zvonimir Janko
Zvonimir Janko (26 July 1932 – 12 April 2022) was a Croatian mathematician who was the eponym of the Janko groups, sporadic simple groups in group theory. The first few sporadic simple groups were discovered by Émile Léonard Mathieu, which were then called the Mathieu groups. It was after 90 years of the discovery of the last Mathieu group that Zvonimir Janko constructed a new sporadic simple group in 1964. In his honour, this group is now called J1. This discovery launched the modern theory of sporadic groups and it was an important milestone in the classification of finite simple groups. Biography Janko was born in Bjelovar, Croatia. Zvonimir Rogoz
Zvonimir Rogoz (10 October 1887 – 6 February 1988) was a Croatian actor who played in German, Croatian, Slovenian, Czech and Slovakian, on stage and in cinema, during a career long 81 years. A native of Zagreb, Rogoz started his actor's career in Vienna in Wiener Theater. From 1919 to 1929 he was actor and director in Ljubljana. Rogoz became famous in Czechoslovakia as a guest in title roles when Ljubljana theater in 1927 played in Prague Shakespeare's ''Hamlet'' and Dostoevsky's ''Idiot''. Rogoz remained in engagement in National Theatre in Prague from 1929 till 1949. In the prewar period he appeared in many Czechoslovak films of the 1930s, including the 1933 erotic drama '' Ecstasy'', featuring young Hedy Lamarr. Zvonimir Cimermančić
Zvonimir Cimermančić (; 26 August 1917 – 17 May 1979) was a Croatian footballer. He represented Yugoslavia at the 1948 Summer Olympics. Club career He began his playing career with HŠK Građanski Zagreb's youth side before moving to NK Slavija Varaždin. In 1938 he returned to Građanski and in the following season won the Kingdom of Yugoslavia's last national championship. He played with Građanski in the Independent State of Croatia's First League until the state's demise and the club's disbanding at the end of the Second World War by Yugoslavian communists. He had become Croatian national champion with the club during the 1943 season. Afterwards, he played for NK Lokomotiva and Građanski's replacement regime-club NK Dinamo Zagreb.
