Zvi Sherf
Zvi Sherf ( he, צבי שרף; born December 18, 1951 in Tel Aviv, Israel), known almost universally by his nickname Zvika ( he, צביקה), is an Israeli former basketball player and professional basketball coach. Coaching career Sherf played basketball with the Maccabi Tel Aviv youth teams, starting at age 12. By age 16, Sherf was playing for Maccabi South Tel Aviv (the club's second side), and was sent to a coaching course, along with fellow future Israeli basketball coach Pini Gershon. By age 20, Sherf was coaching the Maccabi Tel Aviv youth teams, and by age 25, he was coaching Maccabi South Tel Aviv, leading it to his first championship. In the 1980–81 season, when Maccabi Tel Aviv won the EuroLeague, the Israeli League and the Israeli State Cup titles, Sherf was an assistant coach to Rudy D'Amico. BC Spartak Saint Petersburg is a Russian professional basketball team that is based in Saint Petersburg, Russia. During the 2016–17 season, the club was named BC Kondrashin Belov (BCKB), after its former player Alexander Belov and its former head coach Vladimir Kondrashin. History The club was originally established on September 8, 1935, as BC Spartak Leningrad. The club then became known as BC Spartak Saint Petersburg in 1991. The club was disbanded on July 31, 2014, due to financial problems. Rudy D'Amico
Rudy D'Amico (born August 18, 1940) is a National Basketball Association (NBA) scout, and former college basketball and professional coach. He was the head coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv, and he led them to the FIBA European Champions Cup (EuroLeague) championship in 1981. He scouts for the Orlando Magic. Early life D'Amico, the son of Italian-born parents, was born in Queens, New York, grew up in Astoria and attended Newtown High School. He then attended Seattle University, and in 1961 won letters in both basketball and baseball. He also earned a master's degree from New York University. Basketball coaching career D'Amico was head basketball coach at Brooklyn College in the Knickerbocker Conference, from 1967 until 1977. Pinhas "Pini" Gershon ( he, פנחס "פיני" גרשון, born 13 November 1951), is an Israeli former professional basketball player and coach. He won three top-level European-wide club championships as the head coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv. He won the FIBA SuproLeague championship in 2001, and the EuroLeague championship in 2004 and 2005. He was named the EuroLeague Coach of the Year in 2005. In 2008, he was named one of the 50 Greatest EuroLeague Contributors, as a coach.
