Zuzu Bollin
Zuzu Bollin (September 5, 1923 – October 19, 1990) was an American Texas blues guitarist and singer from Frisco, Texas. Originally named A.D. Bollin, the name 'Zuzu' is believed to refer to a brand of ginger-snap cookies popular at the time. Bollin notably recorded "Why Don't You Eat Where You Slept Last Night" and "Headlight Blues" (1951), and variously worked alongside Duke Robillard, Doug Sahm, Booker Ervin, Percy Mayfield and David "Fathead" Newman. Bollin was thought to be dead, until he was rediscovered in 1988 living in Dallas, Texas, by the Dallas Blues Society Records founder, Chuck Nevitt. Nevitt gathered together a band and produced Bollin's first full length album ''Texas Bluesman'' in 1989, as the debut release on Dallas Blues Society Records. This record was sold to Antone's Records a couple of years later, and Antones released it on compact disc. Frisco, Texas
Frisco is a city in Collin and Denton counties in the U.S. state of Texas. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and about from both Dallas Love Field and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Its population was 200,509 at the 2020 U.S. census. Frisco was the fastest-growing city in the United States in 2017, and also from 2000 to 2009. In the late 1990s, the northern DFW suburban development tide hit the northern border of Plano and spilled into Frisco, sparking rapid growth into the 2000s. Like many of the cities in Dallas's northern exurbs, Frisco serves as a bedroom community for professionals who work in DFW. Antone's Record Label
Antone's was a record label based in Austin, Texas. History Antone's Records & Tapes was founded by Clifford Antone (October 27, 1949 – May 22, 2006) in 1987, and it was specialized in blues music, particularly blues artists who performed at his in 1975 opened blues nightclub Antone's in Austin, Texas. In 1987 Antone opened also a record store Antone's Record Shop in Austin, Texas. In 1993 the record label was renamed in a simplified manner as Antone's Records. Antone's was awarded best local record label by ''The Austin Chronicle'' readers in 1993. Texas Clef Entertainment Group, an affiliate of Antone's Records, acquired the assets of the defunct Watermelon Records label.
