Ottaviano ( nap, Uttajano) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Naples in the Italian region Campania, located about east of Naples and is located in the Vesuvian Area. Ottaviano was in Roman times a hamlet of houses within a vast estate (praedium Octaviorum) belonging to the gens Octavia, Augustus's family. The territory of the country includes most of the crater of Vesuvius. The Medici Castle in Ottaviano houses the headquarters of the National Park of Vesuvius. Ottaviano suffered significant destruction during the 1944 eruption of neighboring Mount Vesuvius. Now the city is home to the center office of Vesuvius National Park. Taddeo Zuccaro (or Zuccari) (1 September 15292 September 1566) was an Italian painter, one of the most popular members of the Roman mannerist school. Federico Zuccaro, also known as Federico Zuccari (c. 1540/1541August 6, 1609), was an Italian Mannerist painter and architect, active both in Italy and abroad. Biography Zuccaro was born at Sant'Angelo in Vado, near Urbino (Marche). His documented career as a painter began in 1550, when he moved to Rome to work under Taddeo, his elder brother. He went on to complete decorations for Pius IV, and help complete the fresco decorations at the Villa Farnese at Caprarola. Between 1563 and 1565, he was active in Venice with the Grimani family of Santa Maria Formosa. During his Venetian period, he traveled alongside Palladio in Friuli. Anna Radius Zuccari
Anna Radius Zuccari (May 7, 1846 – July 13, 1918) was an Italian writer who used the pen name Neera. Biography The daughter of Fermo Zuccari, an architect, she was born Anna Zuccari in Milan and grew up in Caravaggio. Her mother died when she was ten and she was raised by two older unmarried aunts from her father's family. Her father died when she was twenty. In 1871, she married the banker Emilio Radius. She published her first short story in 1875 in the publication ''Il Pungolo''. Zuccari contributed to various magazines and journals, such as ''Rivista d'Italia'', ', ', ' and ''L'Idea Liberale''. In 1890, she founded the journal ''Vita Intima''. Despite her career as a successful author, it was Zuccari's view that a woman's place was in the home, which she called "real feminism". Carlo Zuccari (November 10, 1703 – May 3, 1792) was an Italian composer and violinist. Active during the late Baroque music, Baroque and early Classical period (music), Classical music periods, Zuccari worked mainly in Milan, Olomouc, and London. Personal life and career Zuccari was born in Casalmaggiore, Italy, a flourishing small town. He began studying the violin at a young age and demonstrated considerable talent. At the age of 19, he moved to Vienna to pursue his musical training. There, his skills garnered the attention of nobility. He eventually met the Milanese noblewoman Francesca Radaelli, an amateur singer, whom he married when he was 29. Immediately afterward, he spent years traveling Europe to build his fame as a virtuoso, serving for a time as a Kapellmeister before eventually settling in Milan. Federigo, Vincenzo Antonio, Ludovico Zuccari (Isola del Liri, Isola di Sora, 26 August 1783 – Barra (Naples), 15 December 1817) was an Italian astronomer, professor of Astronomy at the University of Naples Federico II, Naples University, professor of Mathematical Geography at the Military Academy of Naples and director of the Astronomical Observatory of Capodimonte, Astronomical Observatory of Naples. He studied in Naples and Rome, also becoming passionate about literature and fine arts. In 1807 he was appointed professor of spherical trigonometry and mathematical geography at the Nunziatella Military School, Real Scuola della Nunziatella.
