Andrzej Stanisław Zoll (born 27 May 1942) is a Polish lawyer, former judge and president of the Polish Constitutional Tribunal, former Polish Ombudsman, former president of the State Electoral Commission, former president of the Legislative Council, co-author of the Polish Penal Code of 1997. Franz Joseph Zoll
Franz Joseph Zoll was born at Möhringen an der Donau, in Baden, in 1772, and was first instructed by his father, a sculptor and painter. In his fourteenth year he went to Trostenberg in Bavaria, to an uncle who was a fresco painter, and then spent two years at Munich, studying under Johann Dorner and Joseph Hauber at the Academy. He visited Paris, Vienna, and Rome. In 1821 he became professor of design at Freiburg University, and in 1823 director of the Mannheim Gallery. He died in 1833. Kilian Christoffer Zoll (20 September 1818 9 November 1860) was a Swedish painter, graphic artist and illustrator in the style of the Düsseldorf School. He created genre scenes, landscapes, altarpieces and portraits. Biography Zoll was born in the parish of Hyllie in Malmöhus, Scania, Sweden. He was the son of Nils Fredrik Zoll and Catarina Christina Knutsson. His father was a lieutenant in the Swedish Army. He initially attended Malmö Læromsskola in Malmö, but interrupted his course work to study art in Stockholm. From 1836 to 1849, he studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts with Fredric Westin, Per Krafft and Carl Johan Fahlcrantz, but found it necessary to suspend his work there on several occasions so he could paint and sell portraits to support his education. Paul Maurice Zoll (July 15, 1911 – January 5, 1999) was a Jewish American cardiologist and one of the pioneers in the development of the artificial cardiac pacemaker and cardiac defibrillator. He graduated from Boston Latin School in 1928. Samuel Edward Zoll (June 20, 1934 – April 26, 2011) was an American lawyer, judge and politician. He began his career as a high school teacher then became a lawyer, politician, then a judge. Later in life he was named to be Chief Justice of the District Courts in Massachusetts. Early life and education Zoll was born in Peabody, Massachusetts. His father was an immigrant from Lithuania, and his mother was a native of nearby Haverhill. Zoll was educated at Salem High School and attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Arts degree, both from Boston University. In mathematics, particularly in differential geometry, a Zoll surface, named after Otto Zoll, is a surface homeomorphic to the 2-sphere, equipped with a Riemannian metric all of whose geodesics are closed and of equal length.
