The Islamic Consultative Assembly ( fa, مجلس شورای اسلامی, Majles-e Showrā-ye Eslāmī), also called the Iranian Parliament, the Iranian Majles (Arabicised spelling Majlis) or ICA, is the national legislative body of Iran. Front of Islamic Revolution Stability ( fa, جبههٔ پایداری انقلاب اسلامی, Jebha-ye pāydārī-e enqelāb-e eslāmī, also translated Persevering Front, Endurance Front and Steadfast Front) is an Iranian principlist political group described as " extreme end of the fundamentalist camp" and "Iran’s most right-wing party". Asadollah Lajevardi
Sayyid Assadollah Ladjevardi ( fa, اسدالله لاجوردی; 1935 – 23 August 1998) was an Iranian conservative politician, prosecutor and warden. He was one of the officials responsible for the 1988 executions of Iranian political prisoners, and was assassinated by the People's Mujahedin of Iran on 23 August 1998. Early life and education Lajevardi was born in Tehran in 1935. He studied theological sciences before working as a bazaar draper. Before the Islamic Revolution of Iran He was one of the co-founders of Islamic Coalition ''Hey'at''s, later Islamic Coalition Party. and had been jailed several times by the Shah's government. Career Lajevardi was a follower of Ayatollah Kashani and Fadayian Islam. He was arrested and convicted on three occasions for militant activities. 2017 Tehran City Council Election
An election to the Islamic City Council of Tehran took place on 19 May 2017, along with the local elections nationwide. The council is elected by the plurality-at-large voting system. This election saw losses for the Principlists and the Reformists gained all 21 seats. More than 3.6 million voters turned out in the election, setting a record. This is an overview of the 2020 Iranian legislative election in Tehran, Rey, Shemiranat and Eslamshahr electoral district. In the election, all 30 seats were decided in the first round and went to the unity list jointly endorsed by the Coalition Council of Islamic Revolution Forces and the Front of Islamic Revolution Stability. Turnout The election was noted being held two days after acknowledgement of COVID-19 spread in Iran, as well as for its low turnout, which was the lowest nationwide amidst the lowest national turnout for decades.
