Zofreen T. Ebrahim is an independent freelance journalist based in Karachi, Pakistan. She was an editor of the magazine, Woman's Own and is the current editor for ''The Third Pole''; a platform dedicated to promoting information about the Himalayan watershed and the rivers that originate there. She has contributed to many national and international newspapers. She has also been recognized for her contributions in the areas of environment and social issues. Radioactive waste is a type of hazardous waste that contains radioactive material. Radioactive waste is a result of many activities, including nuclear medicine, nuclear research, nuclear power generation, rare-earth mining, and nuclear weapons reprocessing.
