Zoe Hickel
Zoe Hickel (born July 10, 1992) is an American ice hockey player who currently serves as assistant coach to the Ohio State Buckeyes women's ice hockey program. She most recently played with Linköping HC of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) in the 2019–20 season. Hickel played collegiate ice hockey with the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs program, a member of the NCAA Division I. She competed with the United States national women's ice hockey team at the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship. In 2015 Zoe Hickel joined the Boston Pride of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). Playing career Hickel attended the North American Hockey Academy (NAHA) for the entirety of her high school career, from 2007 to 2011. In her senior season with the NAHA, she served as a captain. Canadian Women's Hockey League
The Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL; french: Ligue canadienne de hockey féminin ‒ LCHF) was a women's ice hockey league. Established in 2007 as a Canadian women's senior league in the Greater Toronto Area, Montreal, and Ottawa, the league eventually expanded into Alberta, as well as teams in China and the United States throughout its tenure. The league discontinued operations May 1, 2019, after 12 seasons of operations. For most of its existence, it was the highest level women's hockey league in North America while registered as an amateur association. 2017 NWHL All-Star Game
The 2nd NWHL All-Star Game took place at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex on February 12, 2017 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A skills competition was held the day prior on February 11, 2017. Junior Women's Hockey League
The Junior Women's Hockey League is an ice hockey league established in 2007 by Bill Driscoll and Kush Sidhu, coaches of North American Hockey Academy and the Washington Pride, respectively, in order to provide opportunities for young females to develop into collegiate student-athletes. U19, U16 and U14 divisions are sanctioned by the JWHL. In ice hockey, the captain is the player designated by a team as the only person authorized to speak with the game officials regarding rule interpretations when the captain is on the ice. At most levels of play each team must designate one captain and a number of alternate captains (usually two or three) who speak to the officials when the captain is on the bench. Captains wear a "C" on their sweaters, while alternate captains wear an "A". NCAA Division I (D-I) is the highest level of intercollegiate athletics sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States, which accepts players globally. Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs Women's Ice Hockey
The Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs women's ice hockey team plays for the University of Minnesota Duluth at the AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minnesota. The team is a member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the Division I tier. 2019–20 SDHL Season
The 2019-20 SDHL Season was the 13th season of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). The season began in September 2019 and ended in February 2020. The playoffs began a week after the end of the regular season, but the finals were cancelled due to the 2019–20 coronavirus outbreak. HV71 were regular season champions, and due to face Luleå HF/MSSK in the finals. Göteborg HC and Modo Hockey finished at the bottom of the table, but were able to avoid relegation to Damettan in the Playoffs to the SDHL. Brynäs IF defender Lara Stalder led the league in points with 71 and was named league MVP.
