Zoe Bäckstedt
Zoe Bäckstedt (born 24 September 2004) is a Welsh professional racing cyclist riding for UCI Women's World Tour Team , competing across road, cyclo-cross and track racing disciplines. At the 2021 UCI Road World Championships, Bäckstedt won the gold medal in the junior women's road race, and silver in the junior women's time trial. A year later, she upgraded junior time-trial silver to gold, winning the event by over a minute and a half before successfully defending her road race title with a dominant solo victory, and her third road world championship at junior level. At the 2022 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships, Bäckstedt won a second world junior title, this time in the cyclo-cross discipline and completed a hat-trick of world titles across three different disciplines, winning the Madison at the 2022 UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships. Pontyclun
Pontyclun (or Pont-y-clun) is a village and community located in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. Like the surrounding towns, it has seen a sharp increase in its population in the last ten years as people migrate south from the South Wales Valleys and west from the capital city of Cardiff. Pontyclun translates from the Welsh language as 'bridge verthe River Clun', the Clun being a tributary of the River Ely that runs through Pontyclun. Magnus Bäckstedt (born 30 January 1975)L'Équipe, France, 12 April 2004. is a Swedish former professional road bicycle racer. His most notable achievement in cycling is winning Paris–Roubaix in 2004. Early life Born in Linköping, Östergötland Bäckstedt began as a skier, selected for the national team when he was 14. Career Bäckstedt began his professional career in 1996, riding for Collstrop before moving to Palmans in 1997. In 1998, having switched to , Bäckstedt came seventh in 1998 Paris–Roubaix and won the 19th stage of the 1998 Tour de France between La Chaux-de-Fonds and Autun. Megan Hughes
Megan Hughes (married name Megan Bäckstedt, born 5 January 1977) is a Welsh retired track and road racing cyclist. Hughes won the 1998 British National Road Race and represented Wales at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, competing in the road race and points race where she finished fifth. Personal life Megan was educated at Bryn Celynnog Comprehensive School, Beddau. She married the Swedish professional rider, Magnus Bäckstedt, they live in Llanharan near Llantwit Major, Vale of Glamorgan. Despite gaining a place on British Cycling's World Class Performance Plan in 2001, she retired from competitive cycling due to the difficulties involved in living and training in France after her marriage.
