Znamenka (russian: Знаменка) is a rural locality in Zhigalovsky District of Irkutsk Oblast, Russia. Population: in 2010 it had 587 inhabitants. Irkutsk Oblast (russian: Ирку́тская о́бласть, Irkutskaya oblast; bua, Эрхүү можо, Erkhüü mojo) is a federal subject of Russia (an oblast), located in southeastern Siberia in the basins of the Angara, Lena, and Nizhnyaya Tunguska Rivers. The classification system of inhabited localities in Russia and some other post-Soviet states has certain peculiarities compared with those in other countries. Classes During the Soviet time, each of the republics of the Soviet Union, including the Russian SFSR, had its own legislative documents dealing with classification of inhabited localities. Ivan Innokentyevich Serebrennikov (russian: Ива́н Инноке́нтьевич Сере́бренников; 14 July 1882 - 19 June 1953) was a Russian statesman and Siberian regionalist. He served as Chairman of the Administrative Council of the Siberian Republic from 3 September to 3 November 1918 and Minister of Supply for the Russian State from 18 November to 27 December 1918. Early life Ivan Serebrennikov was born on the 14th of July 1882 in Znamenka, Zhigalovsky District of the Irkutsk Governorate. Serebrennikov received his secondary education in the Irkutsk Classical Gymnasium. On 1 January 1906 he was arrested for participating in an illegal gathering for New Years Day and was sentenced to 3 months in prison. At the end of his sentence, in April 1906, he was expelled from Irkutsk. In the same month he married Alexandra Nikolaevna. He studied at the Military Medical Academy in St. Petersburg. The Ilga (russian: Илга) is a river in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia. It is the 32nd longest tributary of the Lena with a length of and a drainage basin area of . There are a number of settlements near the river, such as Lukinovo (Лукиново), Bachai (Бачай), Zakharova (Захарова), Timoshino (Тимошино), Butyrina (Бутырина), Kaidakan (Кайдакан), Chichek (Чичек), Kachen (Качень), Znamenka (Знаменка), and Nizhnyaya Sloboda (Нижняя Слобода), mostly in Zhigalovsky District. Lena-Angara Plateau
The Lena-Angara Plateau ( rus, Лено-Ангарское плато), is a plateau in Siberia. Administratively it is in the Irkutsk Oblast, Russian Federation. The plateau is named after the Lena and Angara rivers, of which it forms the watershed. Rivers on the plateau flow mostly in a south–north direction.Google Earth The plateau has rich mining areas where iron and copper ores are extracted, as well as rock-salt, talc and mica.
