Zink (stylised as ZINK, a portmanteau of ''zero'' and ''ink'') is a full-color Printer (computing), printing technology for digital devices that does not require ink cartridges and prints in a single pass. The printing technology and its thermal paper are developed by Zink Holdings LLC, a U.S. company, with offices in Edison, New Jersey, and Billerica, Massachusetts, and a manufacturing facility in Whitsett, North Carolina. Zink Holdings makes all the paper, and makes a printer for printing labels and other designs on rolls of Zink zRoll; it licenses its technology to other companies that make compact photo printers, and combined camera / compact photo printers. Key licensees include HP Inc., HP, Lifeprint, Prynt, and C&A Global. Cornett
The cornett, cornetto, or zink is an early wind instrument that dates from the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods, popular from 1500 to 1650. It was used in what are now called alta capellas or wind ensembles. It is not to be confused with the modern cornet. The sound of the cornett is produced by lip vibrations against a cup mouthpiece, similar to modern brass instruments. A cornett consists of a conical wooden pipe covered in leather, is about long, and has finger holes and a small horn, ivory, or bone mouthpiece. The range is from A3 to A5, however the bottom note can be lipped as far as G3 and a good player can get up to E6. Construction The ordinary treble cornett is made by splitting a length of wood and gouging out the two halves to make the gently conical, curved bore. Zink (Faroese Band)
The Dreams was a punk rock band from Tórshavn, Faroe Islands formed in 2006. They were based in Denmark along with their producer Lars Pedersen. They also have had success in the Faroe Islands, and all across Europe. Band history Early years (2003 - 2005) In 2003 in Tórshavn, friends Hans Edward Andreasen, Heini Mortensen, Heðin Egholm Skov and Edmund à Garði, formed a punk band called 'Zink'. Heðin left the band in 2004, to be replaced by Eirikur Gilstón Corfitz Andersen. In the same year, they released an album called ''Totally Love Songs'', which contained songs in both Faroese and English. The band was active until late 2004, when Edmund à Garði decided to leave the band due to conflicting interests regarding the band's musical style. Hans Edward Andreasen, Heini Mortensen and Eirikur Gilstón Corfitz Andersen decided to continue the band under the name "The Dreams". Zink Cars
Zink Cars is a former constructor of Formula Vee cars among other racing cars. Zink Cars was formed in 1962, as of 1974 all manufacturing of the Zink racing cars was taken over by Citation Engineering. History Ed Zink started his auto racing career at the dirt ovals of Tennessee and North Carolina in the 1950s. In 1962, Zink designed and built his first road racing car, the Zink Petit. The Zink Petit was a racing car built according to SCCA H-Modified class. The car was powered by a DKW engine. The car made its debut at the SCCA National Championship Runoffs in 1960. Tommy van Hoosier failed to finish at Daytona International Raceway. Bill Greer won the most prestigious SCCA race in the H-Modified class in 1963. Charlie Zink
Charles Tadao Zink (born August 26, 1979) is an American former professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Boston Red Sox in 2008. Career Zink was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Boston Red Sox in 2002 on the recommendation of former Red Sox pitcher Luis Tiant, who coached Zink at Savannah College of Art and Design. After joining the organization, former Red Sox starting pitcher and fellow knuckleballer Tim Wakefield also spent time with Zink, primarily during their spring break and the off-season. Zink began his career with the independent Yuma Bullfrogs in 2001. After signing with the Red Sox, Zink was the 2003 Sarasota Pitcher of the Year with a 3.90 ERA over 136 innings, the most he has thrown in a season at any level of play to date. Helen "Nell" Louise Zink (born 1964) is an American writer living in Germany. After being a long term penpal of Avner Shats, she came to prominence in her fifties with the help of Jonathan Franzen and her novel, ''Mislaid'', was longlisted for the National Book Award. ''The Wallcreeper'' was released in the United States by the independent press Dorothy and named one of 100 notable books of 2014 by ''The New York Times''. Nicolaus Zink
Nicolaus Zink (1812–1887) was the founder of Sisterdale, Texas, and builder of the fort Zinkenburg. Under the direction of Prince Carl of Solms-Braunfels, Zink led a caravan of new settlers from Indianola to New Braunfels. He laid out the town and divided the original allotted farm acreage. In 1984, the Zink house in Welfare, Texas, was designed a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, marker 3595. Early life Nicolaus Zink was born in Bamberg, Bavaria, Germany, on February 4, 1812. He was a career civil engineer and former Bavarian army officer. In 1844, Zink and his wife Louise von Kheusser emigrated to Texas with other Adelsverein colonists.
