The Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum (known popularly as the Zimmerli Art Museum) is located on the Voorhees Mall of the campus of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The museum houses more than 60,000 works, including Russian and Soviet Nonconformist Art from the acclaimed Dodge Collection, American art from the eighteenth century to the present, and six centuries of European art with a particular focus on nineteenth-century French art. The museum also is noted for its holdings of works on paper, including prints, drawings, photographs, original illustrations for children's books, and rare books. Description Founded in 1966 as the Rutgers University Art Gallery to celebrate the university bicentennial, the gallery was expanded in 1983 and renamed the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum in honor of the mother of Ralph and Alan Voorhees, the major benefactors for the museum expansion. Patrick Zimmerli
Patrick Zimmerli (born July 23, 1968) is an American saxophonist, composer, arranger, and record producer. His work has been performed at Carnegie Hall and Town Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London and Salle Pleyel in Paris, as well as at the Guggenheim Museum and the Museum of Modern Art. His pieces have been featured in the Seattle Chamber Music Festival, the Colorado Music Festival, the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival and Festival Mozaic in San Luis Obispo, California. Sandra Zimmerli
Sandra Zimmerli (born 1965) from Panex VD is a Swiss ski mountaineer and radio journalist. Especially in teams with Catherine Mabillard she competed successfully in the 1990s and early 2000s (decade), before she had to withdraw from sports due to an injury. In 2009, she returned to competition ski mountaineering sports. As a journalist she worked for Radio Chablais and currently for La 1ère. Walther Zimmerli
Walther Theodor Zimmerli (20 January 1907 – 4 December 1983) was a Swiss academic theologian in the Reformed tradition and an Old Testament scholar. Life After finishing secondary school in Schiers, Zimmerli studied theology at the universities of Zurich, Berlin and Göttingen. After passing his practical exams at the end of April 1930, he worked in the Theological Faculty at the University of Göttingen as the assistant to Professors Hemperl and Rahlfs and earned his Licentiate in Theology (lic. theol.) in 1932. When the Nazi Party came to power in Germany, Zimerli returned to Switzerland and, in August 1933, became a pastor in Aarburg in the Canton of Aargau. But already in 1935 he was called to be a Lecturer by the University of Zurich and in 1938 was made full professor of Old Testament, History of Religions and Oriental Languages.
