Zimbabwe Women's Under-19 Cricket Team
The Zimbabwe women's under-19 cricket team represents Zimbabwe in international under-19 women's cricket. The team is administrated by Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC). The team played their first official matches at the 2023 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup, the first ever international women's under-19 cricket competition. The side finished bottom of their group at the inaugural tournament. History The inaugural Women's Under-19 World Cup was scheduled to take place in January 2021, but was postponed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was eventually scheduled to take place in 2023, in South Africa. As a Full Member of the ICC, Zimbabwe qualified automatically for the tournament. Zimbabwe Cricket
Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC), previously known as the Zimbabwe Cricket Union (ZCU) until 2004, is the governing body for the sport of cricket in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe Cricket is a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC), and administers the Zimbabwe national cricket team, organising Test tours, One-Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals with other nations. The Africa Cricket Association (ACA) is an international body which coordinates the development of cricket in Africa. The ACA was founded in 1997, and has 23 member countries. The role of the ACA includes promoting the development of cricket in Africa and organising some regional tournaments. Senwes Park
Senwes Cricket Stadium is a Cricket ground in Potchefstroom, North West Province, South Africa. It has hosted two Test matches, with the first in 2002. The Highveld Lions also play some home matches here. It is also home to AFL South Africa, the Australian rules football, body responsible for developing the game in that country and the stadium is home to the South African national Australian rules football team, the ''Lions''. On 29 October 2017, the venue hosted its first T20I match for South Africa against Bangladesh, which was the 100th T20I for South Africa. 2023 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup
The 2023 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup was the first edition of the ICC Women's Under-19 Cricket World Cup, hosted by South Africa in 2023. The tournament was moved from its original slot at the end of 2021 to January 2023 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sixteen teams competed in the tournament, initially divided into four groups. India, England, Australia and New Zealand progressed to the semi-finals of the competition. In the semi-finals, India beat New Zealand by 8 wickets and England beat Australia by 3 runs.
