Zilveren Nipkowschijf
Zilveren Nipkowschijf (; "Silver Nipkow Disk", named for German television pioneer Paul Gottlieb Nipkow) is a Dutch television award that has been given out since 1961 by a selection of Dutch critics. The three founding critics were Henk Schaafsma of NRC Handelsblad, Hans Keller of Volkskrant, and Han G. Hoekstra of Het Parool. In 1975, Stichting Nipcow was founded and became the official foundation to award the Zilveren Nipkow. Tom Smeets of De Gelderlander has been the chairman of the foundation since the start. In 1996, the foundation started awarding the Zilveren Reissmicrofoon to the best Dutch radio show. In 2003, the foundation introduced a new award for best multimedia presentation, which was named the Zilveren Prichettprijs (named after Harry Prichett). Paul Gottlieb Nipkow
Paul Julius Gottlieb Nipkow (22 August 1860 – 24 August 1940) was a German technician and inventor. He invented the Nipkow disk, which laid the foundation of television, since his disk was a fundamental component in the first televisions. Hundreds of stations experimented with television broadcasting using his disk in the 1920s and 1930s, until it was superseded by all-electronic systems in the 1940s. Nipkow has been called the "father of television", together with other early figures of television history like Karl Ferdinand Braun. The first public television station in the world, Fernsehsender Paul Nipkow, was named in his honour. Adriaan van Dis (Bergen aan Zee, 16 December 1946) is a Dutch author. He debuted in 1983 with the novella ''Nathan Sid''. In 1995 his book ''Indische Duinen'' (''My Father's War''), which in its narrative is a follow up to his debut novella, was also awarded several prestigious literary awards. ''De Luizenmoeder'' (literally: "The Lice Mother") is a Dutch comedy series broadcast by AVROTROS on NPO 3. The series is about an elementary school, called "De Klimop", its teachers, its principal, and the parents of its first grade (group 3) students. The first season, which consisted of nine episodes, aired weekly on Sundays between 14 January and 11 March 2018. The season was followed by a special, that included bloopers and deleted scenes. The series became an unexpected success, reaching record-breaking ratings and receiving awards. A second season began on 10 February 2019. Belgian production company Lecter Media bought the rights to make a Belgian version directed by Maarten Moerkerke, which was broadcast on VTM starting in January 2019. Redmond O'Hanlon, FRGS, FRSL (born 5 June 1947) is an English writer and scholar. Life O'Hanlon was born in 1947 in Dorset, England. He was educated at Marlborough College and then Oxford University. After taking his M.Phil. in nineteenth-century English studies in 1971 he was elected senior scholar, and in 1974 Alistair Horne Research Fellow, at St Antony's College, Oxford. He completed his doctoral thesis, ''Changing scientific concepts of nature in the English novel, 1850–1920'', in 1977. Though very religious when he was young, O'Hanlon became an atheist upon his discovery of the works of Charles Darwin. From 1970–74, O'Hanlon was a member of the literature panel of the Arts Council of Great Britain. ''Koefnoen'' (say: ''koof noon'') was a popular Dutch television show, aired by the AVRO between 2004 and 2016. The first episode aired on 17 September 2004. The sketches on this show were taking a look at the past week. Most characters in ''Koefnoen'' were done by Dutch comedians Owen Schumacher and Paul Groot. A few other comedians supported them in the show. A lot of these comedians previously worked for ''Kopspijkers'', another Dutch television show. 'Koefnoen' is a Dutch-Yiddish word and means "for free". Kopspijkers
Kopspijkers was a talk show that ran on the Dutch public television from 1995 to 2005 (first named Spijkers). A recipient, in 2003, of the annual ''Zilveren Nipkow'' best-show award from Dutch television critics, the programme was produced by the left-of-centre public broadcaster Omroepvereniging VARA, VARA. It was hosted by , hence the title. Humorous in style, the show was particularly noted for its satirical sketches. Until 2001 it was 'normal' cabaret, but in September 2001 (which happened to be the week of the 9/11 terrorist attacks) the show started with imitations of famous people. These were much like those featured in the British TV programme ''Spitting Image'', but used real actors. Arjan Ederveen Janssen (born 9 September 1956) is a Dutch actor, comedian, TV scriptwriter and TV director. He participated in the TV series '' Theo en Thea'', '' Kreatief met Kurk'' and '' 30 minuten'' and played in the musicals ''Hairspray'' and ''Lang en Gelukkig''. He wrote the play ''Moord in de Kerststal''. Ederveen owns a TV production company, called ''De Toko''. His manager is Evelien Jansen. ''30 minuten'' (''30 minutes'') was a 1995 Dutch satirical mockumentary TV series, written by Arjan Ederveen and directed by Pieter Kramer. Ederveen also starred in every episode. Two series of seven episodes were produced and broadcast by the Dutch TV station VPRO between 1995 and 1997. ''30 minuten'' was praised by many TV critics and received several awards. It was also a major influence on the Flemish mockumentary series ''In de gloria''. Concept ''30 minuten'' is a stylistic satire of documentaries and reality television. The title refers to its half-hour length and was inspired by the BBC documentary series ''Sixty Minutes''. The series is filmed in a mockumentary style with tragicomic undertones.
