Ziggy Pig And Silly Seal
Ziggy Pig and Silly Seal are fictional, talking animal comic-book characters created by cartoonist Al Jaffee for Marvel Comics' 1940s predecessor, Timely Comics, during the period fans and historians call the Golden Age of Comic Books. Initially appearing as individual stars of solo features in the comedy anthology '' Krazy Komics'' #1 (cover dated July 1942), they were soon teamed to become, along with Super Rabbit, the most prominent stars of what Timely called its "animation" comics. With such ''Krazy Komics'' cohorts as Toughy Cat, the anthropomorphic duo are among the first talking-animal characters created specifically for the fledgling medium of comic books, rather than adapted from film, comic strips, or other media. Comic Book
A comic book, also called comicbook, comic magazine or (in the United Kingdom and Ireland) simply comic, is a publication that consists of comics art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panels that represent individual scenes. Panels are often accompanied by descriptive prose and written narrative, usually, dialogue contained in word balloons emblematic of the comics art form. An antagonist is a character in a story who is presented as the chief foe of the protagonist. Michael Sekowsky (; November 19, 1923 – March 30, 1989) was an American comics artist known as the penciler for DC Comics' ''Justice League of America'' during most of the 1960s, and as the regular writer and artist on ''Wonder Woman'' during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Biography Early life and career Sekowsky was born in Lansford, Pennsylvania, and began working in the comics medium in 1941, as an artist at Marvel Comics' predecessor, Timely Comics, in New York City. Galerie Lambiek is a Dutch comic book store and art gallery in Amsterdam, founded on November 8, 1968 by Kees Kousemaker (, – Bussum, ), though since 2007, his son Boris Kousemaker is the current owner. From 1968 to 2015, it was located in the Kerkstraat, but in November 2015, the store moved to the Koningsstraat 27. As of 2018, Lambiek is the oldest comics store in Europe, and the oldest worldwide still in existence. The name "Lambiek" originated as a misspelling of the name of the comics character Lambik, from the popular Suske & Wiske comic book series created by Belgian artist Willy Vandersteen. Scott Joseph Shaw (born September 4, 1951), often spelled Scott Shaw! and Scott Shaw? in ''Rick and Steve'', is an American cartoonist, animator, and historian of comics. Among Shaw's comic-book work is Hanna-Barbera's ''The Flintstones'' (for Marvel Comics and Harvey Comics), ''Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew'' (for DC Comics), and ''Simpsons Comics'' (for Bongo Comics). He was also the first artist for Archie Comics' ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' comic book series. Biography Shaw began selling his artwork while still in his teens after choosing a career as a cartoonist. Throughout the 1970s, he contributed numerous stories to various underground comix. Harvey Eisenberg (February 11, 1911 – April 22, 1965) was an American animator and comic book artist.
