Ziggy Marley
David Nesta "Ziggy" Marley (born 17 October 1968) is a Jamaican singer, songwriter, musician, actor and philanthropist. He is the son of reggae icon Bob Marley and Rita Marley. He led the family band Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers until 2002, with whom he released eight studio albums. After the disbandment, Ziggy launched a successful solo career by having released eight solo studio albums on his own record company, Tuff Gong Worldwide. Ziggy continues his father’s heritage to record and self-release all of his music. Marley is an eight-time Grammy Award winner and a Daytime Emmy Award recipient. Ziggy Alberts (born July 1994) is an Australian singer-songwriter. He is best known for his studio album '' Laps Around the Sun'', which peaked at number 2 on the ARIA Charts for Australian Artist Albums in November 2018. Early life Ziggy Alberts was born in July 1994 and grew up on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland and was homeschooled until the age of 13. Alberts told Triple J "I was looking into dentistry and engineering – no creative stuff". On 31 December 2010, his parents gave the budding dentist a guitar as a graduation gift. He said "I wasn't planning to be a musician, so I was like 'Thanks for this present but…' They said, 'maybe it's time to explore songwriting, and it's just gone from there." ''Ziggy'' is an American cartoon series about an eponymous character who suffers an endless stream of misfortunes and sad but sympathetic daily events. It was created by Tom Wilson, a former American Greetings executive, and distributed by Andrews McMeel Syndication. In 1987, his son Tom Wilson II took over writing and drawing the comic strip. History Ziggy, nameless at his conception, has been visible in some form or another since the mid-1960s. Greeting card writer Tom Wilson first drew a Ziggy-like character as an elevator operator offering political commentary in editorial cartoons, but no one would syndicate it. Ziggy eventually appeared in an American Greetings gift book, ''When You're Not Around'' (1968) which caught the eye of Kathleen Andrews, a founder of the fledgling startup Universal Press Syndicate, which badly needed a popular comic to keep it afloat. Chester Karol "Ziggy" Sobotka is a fictional character on the HBO drama ''The Wire'', played by actor James Ransone. Though his father Frank Sobotka was a well-respected stevedore union leader, Ziggy's thoughtless and immature behavior gained him little respect among other members of the union and The Greek's crime organization. Zygmunt Ian Gordon (born 23 April 1993) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a fullback for Sydney Olympic. Gordon has previously played in his native Scotland for Hamilton and Partick Thistle, and in Poland for Jagiellonia Białystok and Pogoń Siedlce.
