Ziaur Rahman
Lt. General Ziaur Rahman (19 January 1936 – 30 May 1981), was a Bangladeshi military officer and politician who served as the President of Bangladesh from 1977 to 1981. He was assassinated on 30 May 1981 in Chittagong in an army coup d'état. Rahman was a Bangladesh Forces Commander of BDF Sector 1 initially, and from June as BDF commander of BDF Sector 11 of the Bangladesh Forces and the Brigade Commander of Z Force from mid-July during the country's Independence war from Pakistan in 1971. He originally broadcast the Bangladesh declaration of independence on 27 March from Kalurghat radio station in Chittagong. Shaheed Agha Ziauddin Rizviشہید آغا ضیاء الدین رضوی was a Shi'a cleric born at Amphary, Gilgit, in a religious family. He completed his early schooling in Gilgit; he later moved to Lahore, and afterwards Iran, for higher religious education. He also visited UK and Kuwait as a member of a tablighee delegation in the early 1980s. He rose to prominence in 1990 after playing an important role in restoring peace and reconciliation after the sectarian attack by terrorists, which left over 300 people dead. General Mohammad Yasin Zia (Dari: ), is an Afghan military officer and politician. He is a former Chief of General Staff, former Deputy Defense Minister, and former governor of Takhar Province, Afghanistan. Zia has also served as head of Afghanistan's counter terrorism unit (2011) and as the deputy director of the National Directorate of Security (2011–2015).
