Zheng Qunliang
Zheng Qunliang (; born January 1954) is a lieutenant general (''zhong jiang'') of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) of China. He has served as Deputy Commander of the PLAAF since 2013 and previously as Commander of the Jinan Military Region Air Force and the Nanjing Military Region Air Force. Biography Zheng Qunliang was born in January 1954 in Wafangdian, Liaoning Province. He joined the People's Liberation Army (PLA) in March 1970. He served in the 41st division of the PLA Ground Force until 1974, when he entered PLAAF No. 5 Aviation Academy. He joined the Air Force upon graduation in 1977. From 1984 to 1986 he studied at the PLA Air Force Command Academy. Zheng is a top-grade jet fighter pilot. When he reached the PLAAF's compulsory non-flight age of 47, he had accumulated 2,200 flying hours. He became commander of Regiment 3 of the 1st Division in 1992, then division commander in 1997. The People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF; ), also known as the Chinese Air Force (中国空军) or the People's Air Force (人民空军), is an aerial service branch of the People's Liberation Army, the regular armed forces of the People's Republic of China. The PLAAF was officially established on 11 November 1949 and it is composed of 5 branches which are aviation, anti-aircraft artillery, surface-to-air missiles (SAM), radar, and Airborne Corps. The 18th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party was elected by the 18th National Congress on 15 November 2012, and sat in plenary sessions until the communing of the 19th National Congress in 2017. It was formally proceeded by the 17th Central Committee. The committee is composed of full members and alternate members. A member has voting rights, while an alternate does not. If a full member is removed from the CC the vacancy is then filled by an alternate member at the next committee plenum — the alternate member who received the most confirmation votes in favour is highest on the order of precedence. Shenyang Military Region
The Shenyang Military Region was one of seven military regions for the Chinese People's Liberation Army. It has command and control of military and armed police forces in the three northeast provinces of Jilin, Heilongjiang, and Liaoning, which also form Military Districts. This region is now superseded by the Northern Theater Command. The Shenyang Military Region was left with unchanged boundaries since the late 1960s. It is bordered internally by the Beijing Military Region to the west. Externally, it is bordered by North Korea to the south east and the Russian Far East to the north. Prior to the Cultural Revolution, military region commanders tended to remain in post for long periods. As the PLA took a stronger role in politics, this began to be seen as something of a threat to party (or, at least, civilian) control of the military.
