Zheng He (general)
Zheng He (; born November 1958) is a general ('' shangjiang'') of the People's Liberation Army who served as president of PLA National Defense University from 2017 to 2021. He is a member of the 19th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and was a delegate to the 12th National People's Congress. Biography Born in Shanghai, in November 1958, he graduated from Combined Arms Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. He served in the Nanjing Military Region for a long time. His first assignment was chief of staff of the 31st Group Army followed by service at Nanjing Military Region as deputy chief of staff. He then received assignment as director of Military Training Division of the People's Liberation Army General Staff Department in 2013. In July 2015 he transferred to Chengdu Military Region as deputy commander. Zheng or zhèng (hanyu pinyin, Hanyu Pinyin) or Cheng (Wade-Giles) () is a Chinese surname and also the name of an Zheng (state), ancient state in today's Henan province. Li Huohui
Li Huohui (; born October 1963) is a lieutenant general in the People's Liberation Army of China. He is a representative of the 19th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party and a member of the 19th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. He is a delegate to the 13th National People's Congress. Biography Li was born in the town of in Fengcheng County (now Fengcheng), Jiangxi, in October 1963. He served in the Nanjing Military Region and Fujian Military District for a long time. In January 2011, he rose to become chief of staff of the 12th Group Army, a position he held until 2015, when he was commissioned as commander of the 31st Group Army. Lieutenant General
Lieutenant general (Lt Gen, LTG and similar) is a three-star military rank (NATO code OF-8) used in many countries. The rank traces its origins to the Middle Ages, where the title of lieutenant general was held by the second-in-command on the battlefield, who was normally subordinate to a captain general. In modern armies, lieutenant general normally ranks immediately below general and above major general; it is equivalent to the navy rank of vice admiral, and in air forces with a separate rank structure, it is equivalent to air marshal. A lieutenant general commands an army corps, made up of typically three army divisions, and consisting of around 60 000 to 70 000 soldiers (U.S.). Major general (abbreviated MG, maj. gen. and similar) is a military rank used in many countries. It is derived from the older rank of sergeant major general. The disappearance of the "sergeant" in the title explains the apparent confusion of a lieutenant general outranking a major general, whereas a major outranks a lieutenant. In the Commonwealth of Nations, Commonwealth and in the United States, when appointed to a field command, a major general is typically in command of a Division (military), division consisting of around 6,000 to 25,000 troops (several regiments or brigades). It is a two-star general, two-star rank that is subordinate to the rank of lieutenant general and senior to the rank of brigadier or brigadier general. Chengdu Military Region
The Chengdu Military Region was one of seven military districts and is located in the southwest of the People's Republic of China, covering Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, and the Xizang/Tibet Autonomous Region. It includes some of the area previously within the Kunming Military Region and has its headquarters in Chengdu. It was probably established in 1955. The Tibet Military Region was reduced to the status of a district in 1971. The region was disbanded during the 2015 People's Republic of China military reform and become part of the Western Theater Command.
