Zheleznodorozhny City District, Novosibirsk
Zheleznodorozhny District (russian: Железнодорожный район) is an administrative district (raion) of Central Okrug, one of the 10 raions of Novosibirsk, Russia. The area of the district is 8.3 sq km (2.5 sq mi). Population: 64 972 (2017). History The first houses were built here in 1893. At first, the district was named Vokzalnaya Chast. In 1895 the Resettlement Center was established. Kaganovichesky District was formed in 1936. Novosibirsk Glavny Railway Station built in 1939. In 1957 the Kaganovichesky District was renamed the Zheleznodorozhny District. Novosibirsk (, also ; rus, Новосиби́рск, p=nəvəsʲɪˈbʲirsk, a=ru-Новосибирск.ogg) is the largest city and administrative centre of Novosibirsk Oblast and Siberian Federal District in Russia. As of the Russian Census (2021), 2021 Census, it had a population of 1,633,595, making it the most populous city in Siberia and the list of cities and towns in Russia by population, third-most populous city in Russia. The city is located in southwestern Siberia, on the banks of the Ob River. Novosibirsk was founded in 1893 on the Ob River crossing point of the future Trans-Siberian Railway, where the Novosibirsk Rail Bridge was constructed. Main Post Office (russian: Здание главного почтамта) is a building in Zheleznodorozhny City District of Novosibirsk, Russia. It is located on the corner of Lenin and Sovetskaya streets. The building was built in 1916. In 1927, it was reconstructed. The building had been increased to four stories.

Novosibirsk Metro is a rapid transit system that serves Novosibirsk, Russia. The system consists of over track on two lines with 13 stations. It opened in January 1986, becoming the eleventh Metro in the USSR and the fourth in RSFSR. According to 2017 statistics, it is the third-busiest system in Russia behind Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Construction project was approved by Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union in November 1978, and on 12 May 1979 the first construction works began. Siberian Scientific Research Institute of Metrology is a scientific organization in Zheleznodorozhny District of Novosibirsk, Russia. It was created in 1944. History The institute was created in 1944 on the basis of evacuated laboratories of the Kharkov, Leningrad and Moscow institutes of metrology. Kryukov House (russian: Дом Крюкова) is a building in Zheleznodorozhny City District of Novosibirsk, Russia, built in 1908. It is located on the corner of Sovetskaya and Gorky streets. The house originally belonged to the merchant Zakhary Grigoryevich Kryukov. History The house was built in Novonikolayevsk on Kabinetskaya (now Sovetskaya) Street in 1908. The basement and first floor of the building remained at the disposal of Kryukov, the second floor was rented by Novonikolayevsk Public Meeting. Later, Novonikolayevsk Public Meeting also rented the first floor. In 1910, Kryukov's wife, Yekaterina Ivanovna Kryukova, wrote a request to Novonikolayevsk City Government for the construction of an extension to the building along Tobizenovskaya Street (current Gorky Street).
