Zharrëz is a village and a former municipality in the Fier County, southwestern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Patos. In February 2017, in Zharrez there was a hunger strike, Because the houses of residents were destroyed and they wanted payment. Patos, Albania
Patos ( sq-definite, Patosi) is a town and a municipality in the County of Fier, Albania. The municipality was formed at the 2015 local government reform by the merger of the former municipalities Patos, Ruzhdie and Zharrëz, that became municipal units. The seat of the municipality is the town Patos. The total population is 22,959 (2011 census), in a total area of 82.59 km2. The population of the former municipality at the 2011 census was 15,397. It is the center of the oil industry in Albania, and is 7 kilometers southeast from the city of Fier. History Patos is a very old city. It was a city for oil in the modern day and during King of Albania era and during the People's Socialist Republic of Albania era. The city was also for the works to sleep in and investors. Niko Peleshi
Niko Aleks Peleshi (born 11 November 1970 in Korçë) is an Albanian politician who currently is serving as the Minister of Defence since 31 December 2020. He previously has served as the Deputy Prime Minister of Albania in September 2013. He was Prefect of Korçë from 2004 to 2005 and Mayor of Korçë from 2007 to 2012. Since 2012 he has been a member of the Presidency of the Socialist Party. Since 2019 he's been an official deputy. Biography He is married to Amarda Peleshi and has three children. He graduated with honours in Electronic Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Tirana and was awarded the title of Electronic Engineer. In 1989 he completed secondary education with honours in Korçë, at Raqi Qirinxhi High School. Peleshi worked for several years in the private business sector in the city of Korçë and was head of the Korçë Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 2001 to 2004.
