Zhang Daoling
Zhang Ling (; traditionally 34–156), courtesy name Fuhan (), was a Chinese religious leader who lived during the Eastern Han Dynasty credited with founding the Way of the Celestial Masters sect of Taoism, which is also known as the Way of the Five Pecks of Rice and he was the founder of Taoism. He is also known as Zhang Daoling (), Celestial Master Zhang (, ''Zhāng tiānshī''), Ancestral Celestial Master (, ''Zǔtiānshī'') or Zhengyi Zhenren () to Taoists. Zhang is sometimes pictured riding on a tiger. In some Taoist sects, Zhang, along with Ge Xuan, Xu Xun () and Sa Shoujian (), are called the "Four Celestial Masters" (). Biography The details of the life of the historical figure Zhang Ling are obscure; most of the information about him comes from later scripture and hagiography. Zhang Ling (author)
Ling Zhang (; born in 1957) is a former senior audiologist and fiction writer in Toronto, Canada. She was born in Wenzhou, China and came to Canada in 1986 to pursue her MA in English at University of Calgary. She obtained her second MA degree in Communication disorders at the University of Cincinnati. She has published nine novels and several collections of novellas and short stories in Chinese. One of her novels,《金山》, has been translated into English, French, and German. She has won numerous important literary prizes in China. In 2009, Zhang's novella, Aftershock (2010 film), a tale about the survival of the horrific 1976 Tangshan earthquake, was made into China's first IMAX movie, directed by Feng Xiaogang. This movie became the greatest box office success at the time and has grossed more than US$100 million at the Chinese box office. Zhang Ling (born 13 April 1981) is a female Chinese middle-distance runner. On 18 October 1997 in Shanghai she ran the 1500 metres in 3:54.52 minutes. Zhang Ling (tennis)
Zhang Ling (; born October 28, 1989), stylized as Lynn Zhang after retirement, is a former professional Chinese tennis player competing for Hong Kong. On 12 September 2011, she reached her highest singles ranking by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) of 184. On 22 June 2009, she also reached her highest WTA doubles ranking of 219. She won 14 singles titles and seven doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. In 2014, she had her first main-draw match win on the WTA Tour in Kuala Lumpur. She defeated Olga Savchuk, and become the first Hong Kongese player to achieve this, after Patricia Hy-Boulais done it in the 1980s. Playing for Hong Kong at the Fed Cup, Ling has a win–loss record of 37–26. She is the Hong Kong player with most ties (44) and years (11) played, together with most singles, doubles and total wins, leading Hong Kong to play in Asia Group I for four times (2007, 2008, 2015, 2018).
