Zezé Assis
José Assis (January 2, 1962 – August 19, 2007), best known as Zezé Assis, was an Angolan basketball player. Assis, a small forward, competed for Angola national basketball team, Angola at the FIBA Africa Championship 1981, 1981, FIBA Africa Championship 1985, 1985, FIBA Africa Championship 1987, 1987 and FIBA Africa Championship 1989, 1989 AfroBaskets as well as at the 1986 FIBA World Championship. At the club level, he played for Leões de Luanda (basketball), Leões de Luanda, alongside Angolan basketball giant José Carlos Guimarães, having won two BAI Basket, national championships, in 1981-82 Angola Basketball League, 1982 and 1983-84 Angola Basketball League, 1984. The club's name later reverted to its original Sporting Clube de Luanda (basketball), Sporting Clube de Luanda. On August 19, 2007, Assis died of a long disease, at the age of 45 in Luanda. Small Forward
The small forward (SF), also known as the three or swingman, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. Small forwards are typically shorter, quicker, and leaner than power forwards and centers but taller, larger, and stronger than either of the guard positions. They are strategic and are often relied upon to score, defend, create open lanes, and rebound for their team. The small forward is considered to be perhaps the most versatile of the five main basketball positions as they contribute offensively and defensively. In the NBA, small forwards generally range from 6' 5" (1.96 m) to 6' 10" (2.08 m); in the WNBA, they are usually between 6' 0" (1.83 m) to 6' 2" (1.88 m).
