Zevenhuizen, Bunschoten
Zevenhuizen is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Bunschoten, and lies about 6 km north of the centre of Amersfoort. The village consists of a single road, the Zevenhuizerstraat. It was first mentioned in 1469 as Soevenhuysen, and means seven houses. Zevenhuizen is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Bunschoten-Spakenburg Bunschoten () is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht. Zevenhuizen (; gos, Zeuvenhuzen, , or ) is a village in the municipality of Westerkwartier (municipality), Westerkwartier in the province of Groningen (province), Groningen in the Netherlands. As of 2021, it had a population of 2,725. History Zevenhuizen is a relatively young village. For centuries there was no village, only a wild raised bog. Initially, this peat was excavated and reclaimed on a small scale by the farmers as an extension of the estates of (with Tolbert, Netherlands, Tolbert as its main town). After the establishment of the Van Ewsums at , peat extraction was tackled on a large scale. The pattern of a :nl:Veenkolonie, peat colony is clearly recognizable in the numerous canals of Zevenhuizen. Along these canals were dirt roads, which have since been asphalted. Heiloo () is a municipality and town in the Netherlands, located in the province of North Holland.
