Zeus (EP)
''Zeus'' is an EP by the band British Sea Power. It was released on 4 October 2010 in the UK. The EP, and its title track, are named after the transit van used by the band, according to singer and guitarist Yan. The band's merchandise stand at concerts also sold their own brand of beer named "Zeus". Contradictory to the appearance of their names, the track "Mongk" is a remix of the song "Mongk II", which was written earlier but released later. Both "Mongk II" and "Cleaning Out The Rooms" appeared on the ''Valhalla Dancehall'' album, released a few months after ''Zeus''. British Sea Power
Command of the sea (also called control of the sea or sea control) is a naval military concept regarding the strength of a particular navy to a specific naval area it controls. A navy has command of the sea when it is so strong that its rivals cannot attack it directly. This dominance may apply to its surrounding waters (i.e., the littoral) or may extend far into the oceans, meaning the country has a blue-water navy. It is the naval equivalent of air supremacy. Selmeston
Selmeston is a village and civil parish in the Wealden District of East Sussex, England. It is located eight miles (13 km) east of Lewes, to the north of the A27 road between there and Polegate. The church existed at the time of its mention in the Domesday Book of 1086; it is dedicated to St Mary. The ecclesiastical parish is linked with the village of Alciston. The Domesday Book also has entries for the two large houses that lie in the Parish, Sherrington Manor (variously referred to as Elerintone, Serintone and Sirintone) and Tilton house (referred to as Telentone and Tilintone). Post-punk revival (also known as garage rock revival,J. Stuessy and S. D. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Rough Trade Records
Rough Trade Records is an independent record label based in London, England. It was formed in 1976 by Geoff Travis who had opened a record store off Ladbroke Grove. Having successfully promoted and sold records by punk rock and early post-punk and indie pop bands such as the Normal and Desperate Bicycles, Travis began to manage acts and distribute bands such as Scritti Politti and began the label, which was informed by left-wing politics and structured as a co-operative. Soon after, Rough Trade also set up a distribution arm that serviced independent retail outlets across Britain, a network that became known as the Cartel. In 1983, Rough Trade signed the Smiths. Graham Sutton (born 1972) is an English musician and record producer based in Hackney, UK. He is best known as the leader and key figure of seminal post-rock band Bark Psychosis, as well as being a producer for alternative rock bands since the late 1990s. Personal projects Bark Psychosis Sutton first came to attention as the main figure in the band Bark Psychosis in which he played guitar, sampler and assorted keyboards as well as handling lead vocals where necessary.
